Taking Fiorini off them would be doing them a favour.

"Probably in a holding pattern. We are hoping to get it done but it won't be easy. We will pick it up early next week. The difficult part is getting everyone happy in the deal." - Justin Leppitsch, Collingwood List Manager on Dan Houston

So don't hold ya breath. Ain't happening this week. Seems like all of our eggs are in this basket.

SEN making good points about the squeeze on salary at the Blues with Weitering and De Koning coming up. If they do get Houston the dream would be to poach one of these next year ...

Well Carlton getting 14 has certainly made us all a bit more nervous.

We're still going to deal Nobel to GC. We're still going to deal Joe to Port. I think we can still end up getting 13, 23 and Lord. So do we have a plan B if Carlton sneaks in and gets Houston? And what can Carlton offer other than 14?

Very interesting move by the Blues.
They are certainly making a big play for Houston which could also impact the way we deal with Port for Richards.

Richards might not get his wish to get to Port if a deal for Houston can’t be negotiated fairly.

Port doesnt want just pick 14 or just pick 14 and a future 2nd rounder off carlton... i dont understand how this strengthens carltons hand in terms of Houston.. i suspect there is another player they are going to use it on.

The thing is though that they want more than just a first round pick. And they now don't have a future second rounder. The ball's are still in the air. Be hilarious if they used 14 to score Barrass...

One thing in our favour is how pissed off Port was with Carlton in the early manoeuvring for Houston. Really our interest picked up when it became clear that Port didn't like dealing with Carlton.

Port really want Richards, and we do have pick 12 , so I dont see why we cannot get Housten. We have Richards, that Port really want, the Bluescum dont. Just keep the pressure on,he says he wants the Pies, end of story surely.
