Going to be nice to go somewhere, sit down and eat something I didn't have to cook I suppose. It'll be real freedom for me when I can go back to Bunnings.
Still, detoured my morning walk past the strip of shops this morning, chairs and tables are back on the footpaths and people sitting down eating, surrounded by masked numbats buying take away coffee. FFS people, buy a kettle.
On a side note, it's rapidly becoming a shitshow in young people's resi care. 1 Covid positive young person last week, set up in isolation with staff in full PPE, decided after a few days they didn't like it and walked out. Happily out in the community infectious for week before Police caught up with them. Another one positive today, expect the same situation unless can get them into a hotel quarantine facility.
When they're out and about, they often associate with other young people in resi care with other agencies, so you get some great cross infection potential through multiple agencies

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
Today's numbers from the ABC blog:
Victoria: Victoria has recorded 2,189 new local COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths
There are now 23,230 active cases of the virus in Victoria, and 203 people have died during the current Delta outbreak.
The new cases were detected from 77,036 test results received yesterday.
There were 38,339 doses of vaccine administered at state-run sites, and more vaccinations at GP clinics and other venues.
The new cases come as Melbourne exits lockdown after reaching the 70 per cent fully vaccinated benchmark yesterday.
....
New South Wales has recorded 345 new local COVID-19 cases and five deaths
There are currently 482 COVID patients being treated in NSW hospitals with 125 of those in intensive care units.

Juniors friend who was diagnosed with non Hodgkin lymphoma in January had her second jab yesterday, she still has to have her collapsed and dead lung removed. Any one got a better excuse?
Just do it
I’m in the botanical gardens while my sis takes a conference call about the planned **** rallies tomorrow! So far I have taken a million pics of baby magpies, and a couple of injured veterans! They even gave me a wave! Plus the magpie centre, the city, birds, bugs, a turtle and a dragonfly! Plus the shrine! Time for lunch wine and then I’m taking some cop pics for a conference! 77 days we waited! FREEDOM!
EAnjou that haircut Beanie I’m hanging to get my eyebrows done! And I have 3 really good massage vouchers to use! Bliss!
Bunnings next week Stu!

Yep, I find the whole thing hollow. I think I'm worn out from the past 18 months to celebrate hard.stui magpie wrote:Lockdown isn't over, calling this "Freedom day" is a fkn joke. Getting out of solitary confinement and going to general population is an improvement, but you're still in prison.
It's a better situation than before obviously, but plenty of room for improvement to have real freedom return.
