Stevo is really good at footy but doesn't try hard enough. It's important to try your best, no matter how good you are.
With respect Doug44, do you know this first hand as an absolute fact or are you repeating the spin and BS from the disgraced club administration? If it’s the latter, I would give it zero credence because they are a pack of bullshit artists masquerading as club officials spinning a web of blatant lies as they go on dealing with this fallout. Their integrity is shot to pieces because of their vow of silence and lack of transparency. The club administration s operating like it is the 1950’s when only the authorised personnel knew what was going on. This is undesirable nonsense and the club has to be called out on it.
Bucks2014, I worry not about the consequences but a child like your daughter deserves to know why her favourite player is no longer at Collingwood. Bugger side by side
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

WHY is Collingwood an information free zone? What are they bloody hiding?

^^ even with all the facts people will still add two and two and get five. Look at Mark Robinson’s articles, he knows what Stevo got up to, why he was traded and why only one club showed any interest in him, but he’s a flog who loves bagging the club.
“ Son, if you’re going to be the best version of yourself, you need to pull your head in and focus on your footy “
Now play that over and over again for 6 months ( or longer ) and then decide if the club has been harsh on him.
Everyone will have a different version of what’s fair or not but the smart people are always the ones who learn from their mistakes. Those that don’t are doomed to fail.
He’s still got time but it will be interesting to see who “ mentors “ him at the Kangas.
Gary Player “ the harder I practice, the luckier I get “
My gut instincts tell me that there are truths being told and some cover ups
( silence ).
I would think that Stevo was pushed out and was given warnings. His reactions were in part true, Yes he probably did pick up the phone and ring Bux but he probably didnt want to face the truth of his misgivings from the previous meetings and warnings. Hub life could have uncovered some undesirable traits that worked against him and he thought he could keep doing what he was doing without consequences. He was in defence mode and tried to downplay his reputation, typical of youngsters who believe they have done no wrong, because they are these days told they are the best and dont need negativity in their lives, or as we call it constructive criticism
Collingwood may have decided they didnt want to be bitten twice by what they could foretell in certain behaviours in JS. Mental health issues per se. They could have said to JS we have given you support and avenues to address certain flaws but JS didnt persue them. I see JS as an immature type and probably self centred. He could also be soft in the heat of battle.
Maybe collingwood thought we have had enough of soft players and in line with definite direction we are taking.
In hindsight JS should have been traded bc his whole package was damaged on several fronts and maybe what we got for him was probably a true indicator of his worth....only one club took interest so there is a big hint to what his worth is. Collingwood did the smart thing and went silent on him bc airing confidential information in public would have been a defamation case waiting to happen, baseless or not.
The betting scandal probably couldnt be avoided in making it public and so was his glandular fever, followed by a drop in form and alleged poor communication to the group.
Harsh and unnecessary dude. Even my daughter and son are pissed off at Collingwood and so they should be. They are in their 20’s. The whole process of dealing with these issues was horrible. You can crack your chestnut anywhere you like but it’s your attitude that’s nuts.
