I really hope not, they really should have good enough contact tracing to stay on top of these small numbers. Yeah they stuffed up the Epping / Epping North one which gave the Virus a head start in the community but all the cases so far have been pretty connected.
if we get broader infections that each spin off multiple close contacts and exposure sites then they may have to. We've already got people panic buying poo tickets and potential exposure sites in Bendigo and up on the NSW border.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

We've been told to take the work laptops home each night, bit worry the regional exposure means they may not just lockdown Melbournestui magpie wrote:I really hope not, they really should have good enough contact tracing to stay on top of these small numbers. Yeah was interesting they weren't rushing to realise that over the border!!!think positive wrote:actually it was the port end!! i wonder if anyone took it back to sa!eddiesmith wrote:Bloody Collingwood supporters...
But it will be an interesting test, a positive case was at the G last year with over 80,000 and there were no documented cases out of it.
But I don't know, Bendigo and Collingwood game, bloody Buckley's no1 fan...

Any lockdown will impact people who can't work from home and won't get paid. Avoid if at all possible.
Saw on the news that discussions are very advanced between Vic and the Feds to build another quarantine site at Avalon.
Given Dandrews well known friendship with Lindsay Fox (who owns Avalon Airport) it was potentially very strategic to go to the Feds with the plan they didn't want, building it on Federal land at Mickleham, and once that would be knocked back and instead the feds gift the Foxes hundreds of millions of dollars with no procurement process followed.

Other states are putting border restrictions in place and people here are preparing for another lockdown because, basically, no one has any faith in this governments ability to manage this. What'sinaname wrote:Once again, Victoria fails.
Personally I really hope they've finally learned and can deal with this like Gladys does without needing lockdowns. I don't think they have but I really hope I'm wrong.

Hearing a positive case up this way, not sure it's already in the known cases or not? One of the local footy clubs came out saying a positive case was at their game on the weekend.
It would be great for Victoria if they can beat this without lockdown. Make it 2/3 outbreaks in the last 6 months stopped without lockdowns compared to 1 completely unnecessary lockdown that cost Victorian businesses over a billion dollars.
