Are you kidding? Dusty pulled his head out of his ass and worked harder. Stephenson didn’t. If we’d continued tolerating Stephenson he wouldn’t have changed. We made the right call to **** him off. He didn’t say a word when interviewed about his trade, no “I’d like to thank Collingwood for standing by me in 2019 during the betting scandal, and I’m looking forward to repaying North’s trust in me.” THAT would have gone a long way, instead he took a snipe at the club and showed no remorse for his behaviour.

Big difference between Dusty & Stevo is one is a complete d____head & one is a completely good bloke, same goes for Swanny, Dids, Heater & Tazz. Non were d___heads.

Exactly Scooby. I said it earlier, Swanny and Dusty played around off field but they were always respectful to the club, staff and other players.

This is the funniest thread of the year. From those closest to the situation:

Shit trainer;
Zero interest in team;
Serious, no really, serious gambling problems; does anyone reckon the torp was a co-incidence;
Not a good guy.
Oh and rumours but who knows of punching coaching staff.

This isn’t Bucks. This is a breakdown in the recruitment process.

And for those who think he had to call Bucks to know what was going on, really? Really? Are you trading in the Easter Bunny this year.

Wrong move to have gotten him. Good move to have moved on

I just can't believe we didn't or couldn't get this to work. No need for PMs

I'm still so pissed off that this has happened. We'll find out in time if it was for good or for bad.

I mean this guy went #6 in the draft and might have gone #1 if it wasn't for concern over his heart issue. And he proved it in his first year of AFL.

At the start of last year he was worth two first round picks no question. And now less than two years later he's gone for a pittance. I mean Port probably paid more in the trade for Jack Watts, think about that for a minute.

I agree, however if you search on big footy they us way worse stuff out there than what’s in the PM regarding his behaviour. Google guys it’s not hard. If half of it is true, and after seeing his interview which smacked of someone who thinks they are untouchable ..... re the gambling thing, he said ‘it almost made me give up gambling’ that was a red flag to me, and if you look at the thread I said it straight away. Then the smart arse comment about joining the gym when he clearly couldn’t be bothered trying to gain kg with us, He seems to be a self absorbed spoilt brat who thinks the world owes him a living. And the way this $@&^# up world works, who knows? I’m pissed of we couldn’t bring him into line, I won’t wish him well, for me it’s all about Treloar, and the appalling way he was treated, and about the mismanagement in the first place. Treating us fans like we are nothing.

OK, so here is the bit of the narrative I don't get....if we were clearing out a trouble making Stevo, and moving Phillips on, why did we need to treat Treloar the way we did? Given we are paying the dogs part of his contract, how much did we really save from the trade, given we lose a good player at worst, and possibly the trust of the playing group?

And were we in a position cap wise were we definitely needed to?

^^ Treloar trade looked ugly but apparently it’s been building for two years and shouldn’t have been a surprise to him. There’s definitely more to the story but we’ll never know unless someone spills the beans. The club shot themselves in the foot signing him on $900k a year until 2025, and there needs to be change to whoever plans our contracts and list management.

Treloar wasn’t on 900k a year, his contract was back ended. Other players contracts are not back ended.

Yep, Collingwood kept kicking the can down the road by back ending contracts of agreeable players, including Ben Reid, who because he agreed to back ending was one of the highest paid at the club in his last year.
