Josh is a very mixed up boy at the moment. He is a very intelligent guy as well.

He is sort of at the cross roads of his footy career.

I spent most of the last week with him and his confidence is not so good.

He keeps looking over his shoulder and seeing Guy Richards and the Cloke brothers and wonders if he will even get a game?

This is not the mental state he should be in.

I am trying to give him confidence by giving him as much positive reinformcement as possible.

But he is not a confident type of person.

You'd hope rising to the challenge would be some inspiration to him.

Doubtful. And how would you know this, anyway? He is ahead of the Cloes both as a forward and ruckman.

I totally agree about him been trade bait. A team like western bulldogs who hav a quality ruckman, but probably need another forward and someone who can ruck would be keen on him. Even Carlton need another forward and are down in there ruck department. Even if he isnt performing, he is still a number 1 draft pick and teams would b interested in him.

However i think he should stay right at home with collingwood. :)

Josh Fraser spoke volumes about his abilities and attitude in the 2003 GF.
He is one of a very small band of players who could actually hold their heads up on the day.
I'd rather have him in the team than out of it.
Collingwood 4 ever.

I think that sometimes we get confused with statistics and a players use to a team. i think that Josh is one of those players who adds to our team by being on the field, he is one of the first over to the young guys when they make a mistake and he often puts himself into harms way to help a teammate. You need heart and soul in your team and I think that Josh adds this to the team.

Yer fair enough point, definately adds a bit of spark to the team, especially when he does something special.

He'd have to have some shocking years in that case. I can't see him getting traded. It would have to be for some quallity players.

And Joel, I thought exactly the same thing this morning.

Yer dont get me wrong, i want him at collingwood and i think he adds a lot to the side, but if a real star was in the trade, it might be worth a thought about trading him if it means obtaining a quality ruckman or even midfielder.

I thought maybe ottens was worth a look this year. But as i said, its just worth a thought, i would not be trading him.

You wouldn't trade Ottens for Fraser. Fraser is worth far more - and his price will be even higher when he becomnes an All-Australian this season...

I still think they should try Josh on the wing some time this year. Floating forward infront of the ball so he gets on his own a lot.

With the Clokes coming up to speed this can happen.

If he doesn't perform then his value on the market isn't going to be worth a lot.
yeh sorry, What i meant was that if the other taller players do overtake him for roles in the team, lets face it we have an abundance of talls, there would other teams that lack talls that would surely be interested in him, i mean he is still a decent player he would defintely get picked up...

Anyways im not anti josh, hope he has a big big year and shows us what he can really do!!
