The 16 year old took the washing out of the machine and hung it on the line without being asked! And he didn't whinge when I asked him to vacuum his room.

This mightn't last, so I'm going to take advantage of it and get him to do some other jobs around the house.

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/0 ... chool-meal

Didn't know where to put this, but it's seriously f***ed up, especially that the main story all morning on ninemsn has been the stupid streaker, meanwhile 22 children have died from eating lunch provided by their school. Many more still sick in hospital. Poor little things

Doc Brown spends one and a half movies bitching about how dangerous time travel is and how he has to 'destroy that infernal (time) machine'. Yet at the very end of the trilogy you see that he has gone and built a second one out of a steam train. WHY??? FMD

An alleged rape victim who was jailed in Dubai for having sex outside of marriage has spoken out about her ordeal.
Marte Deborah Dalelv, was sentenced to 16 months in prison for having sex outside of marriage after she was raped by a co-worker in March during a business trip to the city.
But when she reported the attack to police, she herself was arrested.

So she actually got more jail time than the rapist. WTF?

Reading elsewhere and came across this little gem in a report on the same story.
Under United Arab Emirates law, sex outside of marriage is illegal, and a rape conviction requires either a confession or four adult male witnesses to the attack.

Seriously WTF? So basically no chance of being convicted of rape over there

Yes I saw that story today Stui, and I'm actually shocked by how this all played out. Sharia Law is seriously evil. I don't care what anyone says, it's evil and it affects so many people adversely. Countries that are under Sharia Law pretty much means that women and children are suppressed in many ways, we have limitations on free speech, consuming alcohol is illegal, adultery is illegal and gambling and prostitution is also illegal as well and going by what you just gathered now the idea of convicting someone on rape is extremely tough in a place like Dubai.

Now adultery, gambling or prostituion may be immoral for some people, but it shouldn't be enacted in law that it should be illegal because some find it immoral. If I find something immoral, then another person may not hold the same view and they're entitled to hold that viewpoint. Thank god we live in a society where the concept of church and state is separate and as it should be.

This whole case involving the poor Norwegian girl sickens me and it's actually getting harder to criticise the English Defence League (EDL) as well.

^ Yep. Spot on Jezza.

We should note also that just because these barbaric cultures are dreadful things for women, that does not mean that they are good for men. Men suffer there too in many different ways. It is more subtle, but it too is very bad - and it leads directly to the next cycle of oppression and hateful acts.
