Some concern as to whether we can attract decent players to the club, the last 2 being Ball & Jolly in 2010.

We have brought in some ordinary experienced players in Young, Lynch & White since then.

Also, it's a little embarrassing for us as we did state our desire to get Clark. Bucks need not be so transparent.

So be it.

Hope he has had a good look at their age profile because I believe a few of their "stars" are getting on a bit and won't be there too much longer.

Let's see now what Melbourne put forward for "H".

Not convinced Clark is what we need.

If we are going to bring in established players I want fast midfielders who can kick. We will be alright in the key position department

Remember how easily we got Ball and Jolly in when we were contending? Yeah, that's how it works.

I wonder how Vardy, Brown and Walker fit into that.

Walker Yes, Vardy too injury prone, & Brown that too big to be crumber & too small to be key position.... I think anyway.

Greenwood & Liam Anthony anyone?

On Clarke I had mixed feelings. I thought he was a step up from lynch and perhaps a small step up from white. His last season at the Brions was impressive. Then again so was whites last season witht the swans.

Still part of me liked the idea of a cloke, Clarke and maybe even white forward line with Reid back to his AA position down back.

Something tells me (and without starting a riot) that our current climate at the club will struggle to attract any decent recycled players or players wanting to move. I therefore think we are better building from the ground up. Get hold of some draft picks with the guys wanting to move and keep drafting in talented youth with silky disposal and some pace.

Then .....we just have to be patient.
Had a rough couple of years with injury but I don't think i'd call him a plodder, he's no slower than Beams...

Hawks run Hodge, Lewis and Mitchell through the middle, as Geelong did with Kelly, Selwood, Bartel and so on...

Speed in the guts = overrated...off half back maybe...but not in the middle.
Higgins is the only FA prospect that I'd be interested in. Pace is okay and skills are good, was among the doggies most consistent this year unless I'm mistaken. Has had a bad run with injury so you wouldn't want to be paying to much for him. Heard North are the front runners for getting him.

I'm not to worried about Clark not coming to us,as he is a flight risk. He's liable to pack his bags and leave at any moment, given his past history.Still,it is worrying that we can't seem to get the players we want to come to the club.Collingwood doesn't seem to be a very attractive destination for players anymore.

Fair enough, resort to personal attacks if it makes you feel better.
