While largely off the back of a swollen causality ward, having 6 debutants season to date will undoubtedly bolster our Premiership defence. It's no use asking the question by debuting them during the finals, it poses more risk than reward.
All going well, of the 6 debutants season to date, 3 will have forced their way into the side come finals.
If Richards (for Ginnivan), Harrison (Markov) and Dean (Murphy) have cemented their spot in the side come 1st week of finals, we'll be right in the mix again.
I'm still bullish on Dean. I've seen him do some things that suggested he's not afraid of taking risk as a defender and can play the game.
I think Pies2016 mentioned Frampton might yet prove the ultimate swingman if Dean starts to flourish in tandem with Moore, then we have an option to move Frampton up the ground (forward or ruck) if and when required.
Frampton and McInnes might loom as the biggest swing factors in this side if they can hit the scoreboard when the whips are cracking.
Noble on season to date will be hard to keep out.

2nd? I hope you mean on the ladder and not in the GFRudeBoy wrote:If we can beat Freo today, missing JDG, Elliott, WHE, Mitchell and Howe, then I reckon we can go on and finish 2nd by season's end.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm

We've got to get to 8th.Haff wrote:We’ll go into the bye 7-2-6.
Top 4 is long long gone but if we have our full squad, there is zero reason we can’t win it from as far back as 8th!
We have a horror run after the bye. The Richmond game is the only game you can confidently pencil in as a win

Sydney obviously the standout team at this stage, but everyone else is stumbling at the moment so there's an opportunity to get a run on in the second half of the season and get top 4.
If we beat Melbourne tomorrow and North Melbourne next week, then we're in a good position heading into the bye where hopefully our experienced players (e.g. Pendles, Checkers, JDG etc.) gradually start returning soon after.

Can’t believe how soft Carlton’s draw is given they made a prelim…What'sinaname wrote:Sydney and Carlton will lock up 1 and 2. Sydney far too good and Carlton have a buttery soft fixture.
Everyone else is playing for 3 - 8 now.
Geelong’s is also soft with double ups against the bottom 6 so will also finish top 4 despite not beating another top 8 side.
