So Scotty from marketting the "do nothing PM during the pandemic response" despite quarantine being a federal responsibility has finally agreed to build some non-hotel quarantine accommodation options. He should be congratulated. This comes more than a year when this was being asked for by Queensland.
Finally admitting he stuffed up big time for not doing anything of value to assist in the actual quarantining work he should be applauded.

Just a follow up from that Guardian article on the numbers in the UK:
Under-40s in the UK are being offered an alternative to the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab where available, after reports of extremely rare blood clots with low platelets. There have been 309 cases in the UK out of 33 million people given the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Probably, Dave. I'm in a quandary. My specialist told me at the start of March (before the programs were launched and clarified) that, because of various pre-existing conditions, I had to have the Pfizer vaccine - but the Government won't let me have it - I'm in the Astra-Zeneca group. Given the limited availability of the Pfizer and the fact that there are other people who need it more than me, I am basically continuing to isolate, hopeful that some more Pfizer will eventually become available. Since I'm a strong supporter of vaccination and remain reasonably confident that, with my health profile, COVID will kill me if I get it, it's a fairly unhelpful situation.
