My specialist told me at the start of March (before the programs were launched and clarified) that, because of various pre-existing conditions, I had to have the Pfizer vaccine - but the Government won't let me have it - I'm in the Astra-Zeneca group. Given the limited availability of the Pfizer and the fact that there are other people who need it more than me, I am basically continuing to isolate, hopeful that some more Pfizer will eventually become available. Since I'm a strong supporter of vaccination and remain reasonably confident that, with my health profile, COVID will kill me if I get it, it's a fairly unhelpful situation.
You are the 1st Person I have heard that because of your Medical Conditions means you should not get the AZ Vaccine.

Does he still say that now?

Yes, I imagine so - but that just puts me in the queue ahead of someone else who needs it - and that's not something I plan to do. I've basically been keeping mostly to myself for a year and a bit when COVID has been about - a bit longer won't hurt: I'm not someone who does a job that involves extensive (or, frankly, any) contact with randoms who might have COVID.

There's a reason why the vaccination started with the older more at risk populations and why if the current vaccination rate had gone perfectly to plan, it wouldn't have helped us in this case.

Major spreaders are young people who have few if any symptoms, socialise with little distancing and are last to get vaccinated.

P4S, you may not go hanging with randoms but your kids could kill you if they caught it. Someone old with underlying health conditions that means Covid would likely kill them is a higher priority for vaccination than an otherwise healthy 40 year old getting vaccinated because they can.

But Stui the short angry puppet said we would not be locking down if the vaccine program was on track...

Don't tell me he's telling porkies yet again?

Btw P4S don't worry, they are already saying they have too many supplies, QLD is offering it to young people because the vaccines are set to expire. You can take my Pfizer.

Which is another factor that seems to be ignored by the whinging, if we got in heaps of vaccines earlier and still people didn't take it up, we'd end up with lot's of wastage and they'd blame ScoMo for that too...

bald man speaks with porked tongue.

There was an epidemiologist on The project last night, Kate Langbroek I think tried to lead him to blaming ScoMo.

he was very clear on a few things, one of them was that if the vaccination program was all 'Tickety Boo" it wouldn't have changed a thing as all the young people would still be unvaccinated and the same stuff would have happened.
