A bit of good news: arch-warmonger John Bolton has been sacked by Trump from his position of national security adviser.

It's great news. He should not have been hired in the first place.

Can American left-liberal politicians and media outlets just STFU about North Korea already and let Trump keep doing whatever he’s doing there? I can’t believe they’re seriously calling him out for this:

I agree with the sentiment, but I wouldn't assume his efforts to seagull glory off Moon Jae-in are constructive. For all we know he's a thorn in the flesh or much worse. If Trump were sane I would be more positive given that nothing can ultimately get done without the US. As always, though, I hope his derangements and compulsions somehow work out for the good; he's nothing if not creative.

I’m just staggered that seemingly switched-on people like Ilhan Omar are buying into establishment Democrat talking points on this. My faith in Trump’s foreign-policy capabilities are limited at best, but whatever instincts have led him to sack Bolton and pursue an alternative, more diplomatically oriented path need to be applauded and fostered, not undermined.

You expect this kind of sabre-rattling from MSNBC and Pelosi/Schumer types, but when it’s coming from actual left-wing Democrats it’s pretty dispiriting.

There is no rationality from the left/ Democrats when it comes to Trump. To acknowledge one thing he did that may have been smart undermines the mythology they've built for themselves about him.

^Again I agree with the sentiment, but let's not forget there's even less rationality in Trump himself. The bloke's as clear-eyed as a rabbit with myxo:

Unfortunately, the orange opportunist himself is still 'locked and loaded' ready to defend beloved ally Saudi Arabia. But don't worry, he's going to ask them who did it before taking action:
An Escaped Psychiatric Patient on Twitter wrote:Saudi Arabia oil supply was attacked. There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!
The follow-up tweet was a blinder:
An Escaped Psychiatric Patient on Twitter then wrote:The Fake News is saying that I am willing to meet with Iran, “No Conditions.” That is an incorrect statement (as usual!).
Except that Pompeo and Mnuchin said it at the press conference following Bolton's firing less than a week earlier:

Send the white coats in, FFS. The madness is greatly overwhelming any cleverness there once was.

President Trump Wins Big Ohio Manufacturing Investment from Australia's Pratt Industries

“President Trump welcomed Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in Wapakoneta, Ohio at Pratt Industries, along with factory owner Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt, as he touted an ‘economic revival’ of the manufacturing industry with the promise of more foreign investment and a surge in new jobs,” Suzanne O'Halloran reports for Fox Business.

“We proudly declare Pratt Industries and the great, great state of Ohio open for business . . . Pratt has pledged, as I said, to invest many billions in the United States,” the President said to a “U-S-A”-chanting crowd.

“Pratt is creating 5,000 new jobs, helped in part by Trump's tax cuts which included lowering the corporate tax rate to 21 percent from 35 percent,” O’Halloran writes. “Trump noted foreign companies invested $250 billion in the United States last year alone.”

Lowering company taxes, or even abolishing them all together is the best thing any country can do to boost its economy. It's sad how brainwashed Australians are to think that taxing the businesses that employ them and pay wages is a good thing.

It depends on the cultural context, policy set and competitor profile, and how those ultimately support productivity and living standards.

It's a tactic that can work in narrow contexts, not a universal truth.

Pelosi has finally found a justification to commence an impeachment inquiry against Trump.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-09-25/ ... fmredir=sm

Who knows whether it’s going to get anywhere. Seems a pretty murky case, in which Joe Biden was trying to do dodgy favours for his son in Ukraine, and then Trump tried to bribe the new Ukrainian leader into investigating him. Just another day of normal corrupt international politics being handled ineptly by Trump, it seems. Guess we’ll see if anything comes of this; one suspects that any impeachment proceedings will probably stall in the Senate.

They just handed Trump 2020. Democrats proving no matter how politically inept and out of touch you think they are, they'll go one better.

"We're impeaching Trump for corruptly seeking to investigate Biden's corruption".
Yep, makes everyone in Washington look good.
