I got burnt, too! Nothing like the day I spent in the sun at Phillip Island on one of those 40 degree days though, so no complaints here I have the lovely footy guernsey sunburn mark, soon to be footy guernsey tan.. Don't you just love that?

Having lunch today where I work, 2 of the blokes I was eating with pointed out a patient walking past, Early 20's, who had apparently been getting some advice from the bloke who works in the psych ward. I asked him if she was one of his patients, the other bloke replied, "no, one of mine. She's dying, got weeks to live, no where to go and both parents have suicided in the past 10 years She's a little angry."
Sort of made me stop and think WTF do I have to worry about.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

I've had the same thought lately. Got a text message from a woman I used to work with saying she has cancer everywhere, nothing they can do and has weeks to livestui magpie wrote: Sort of made me stop and think WTF do I have to worry about.
38 year old single mum with 8 & 13 year old daughters, now in palliative care. 3 months ago she was fine.
All I thought was important really isn't at the moment!

early last week i found out someone i knew committed suicide. i hadn't seen him since just before i left nz. he had been battling depression. i least expected it from this person; he was an incredible support to his partner who had overcome bouts of cancer.luvdids wrote:I've had the same thought lately. i learnt at his funeral how much he was respected and to a man everyone i spoke to or heard speak said essentially the same thing. more's the pity this chap will never know the high esteem he was held in.
Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.
