The last two weeks have produced performances that resemble the bad Collingwood of recent seasons that should have us somewhat concerned.

We seem to have gone back to old habits the last two weeks of taking boundary line football to the extreme and our willingness to play on quickly and take the game on has diminished.

The slow delivery within the f50 remains a big concern as well as it does our forwards absolutely no favours.
i actually thought we might lose yesterday, just because we had nothing to play for. there'll plenty to play for next saturday. we hugged the boundary line to death when we destroyed st kilda last month. boundary hugging is bad when you lose (and our coach is a silly sausage who doesn't know anything about footy) but when you win, it's really good (and your coach is awesome).
If people can't appreciate that there's a difference between playing the boundary via the wings 15-20 metres inside the line compared to yesterdays and previous years performances when under pressure it was often under 5 metres then I'll give up.

When we are literally playing the boundary line very rarely much good comes of it.

I'm not too disapointed about losing this game before the finals because it means the boys won't get too ahead of themselves and make them think they are better then what they really are.
We should of won but we didn't and I can't see us winning the flag with Leon Davis in the team because he is providing nothing and doesn't make himself a target down forward.
We have no mental toughness, I would put Tarks back in the team and drop Leon, Macaffer, Fraser so now it's all about taking these final series week by week and get our determination back which wasn't there for the last 2 weeks.

I reckon he was good yesterday, but he must show he is dangerous next week, for sure. I reckon he will have an absolute blinder!

I recken he was average yesterday apart from the 2 goals but when the pressure is on he doesn't get a touch on the footy so I can't see him taking any part in this final series.

Leon is still not positioning himself in the right spots when the long ball is coming in. He is sometimes hanging out the back of the pack looking for a cheap one coming over the back when he should be timing his run in to be front and square.

I feel we are lacking some real zip in the forward line ATM but cant think of any one other than Medders to give us zip. Gee I wish Dicky was available.

Totally thinking the same thing.

This game should also get rid of any arrogance that the premiership is ours and we are the best team in the league. We are not!

Everyone should now take a breath, sit down and realise it is only one week at a time!
Only the foolhardy get ahead of themselves. Have never looked beyond one week anyway.

The loss itself doesnt bother me so much, the fact that our inaccuracy in front of goal cost us this game does.

That's a rather sweeping generalization.

I guess that means for the other 12 weeks we kicked well.

Lets hope we are due for 3 weeks of good kicking then.

IN: Prestigiacomo, Didak, Johnson & Leroy

perhaps at the expense of Blair or MacAffer.. but that would be a tough call
It'd be a stupid call.
Blair has cemented his place in the team with those early goals.
Medders did squat in the VFL!

What would 25 disposals and 3 goals mean to you "dickhead"?

Noticed that too, that we kick badly in clusters of games. The weeks when we kick fairly straight we smash everyone on the scoreboard which means our flag hopes rest on straight kicking. We just need to kick closer to 60% rather than 40%.

I hate losing to those werribee ducks. I hope we can turn it around next week. The goal kicking killed us. On a positive I thought Pendlebury, Wellingham and Davis really stood up.

That game will not affect our preparation for this week's first final!
Let's now focus on RD1 of the rest of our 2010 September lives! :D
