I went to three different stores today and walked straight past the QR code thingo each time without engaging with it. Not a problem and no one confronted me. So if you don’t want to comply with this process, simply don’t. Nothing is mandatory if you wish not to partake in this process. Your choice.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

Started using the QR code at the supermarket about a week ago. Been using it other spots like footy, local cafes for a while.stui magpie wrote:So, as of today mandatory QR code log ins in a retail setting.

If you haven't already done so, download the Service Victoria App from your app store of preference and register your details. You'll need the app because if you try to use your phone camera or a generic QR code reader it either won't work or will be a PITA
It's pretty simple, you stick in your name and contact phone number and it remembers that so when you go to a new place and need to check in, you just scan and click done.
I just ducked over to Coles in Bundoora, each shop in the small complex had a QR code at the entrance.
Get used to it people, it's the new normal.
Today walked around the corner to the local organic grocer to get some veggies for dinner. First time in a while didn’t take my phone (doh) so had to do the manual sign in.

Every shop I've been to in Regional Victoria today asked you to scan the qr code, even if not when entering but every person who serves asks have you done it. In Bendigo everyone was on the front foot doing it on entry to the store.
Found one bonus of the Melbourne lockdown, Citylink have put their speed limits back up to 100 with no one on the roads, was very handy when I was driving beside a cop car to do 100 legally for a change!!!

Saturday morning shop in covid ville Bundoora.
Cruised into Aldi, did the check in. At the register, the chick asked the bloke ahead of me if he'd checked in, he said no but would do it on the way out.
As I was leaving, the bloke to his credit was trying, but he was using his phone camera. I explained to him that he had to download the Services Victoria App and register his details otherwise it wouldn't work.

If you're in a place that has WIFI it causes problems, any web page does.
Greensie has free WIFI but gets you to register. So any internet access gets stuffed up until you either log in or turn off WIFI on the phone.
