UK pushing for 3 month boosters.

Going to see much higher rates of hesitancy if they try the same here.

Bigger dickhead stuff everyone else attitude?

Hopefully not. I really don’t get what the problem is, people get flu shots, they get their kids vaccinated, what is the big deal?

Not every 3 months. Just like people got weary of lockdown, people will get weary of getting jabbed.

You're a mechanic. Let's say car manufacturers suddenly say cars have to be serviced every 3 months? If you don't you have a 0.2% chance of your car dying. Do you think people will service their car every 3 months.

The same will happen with the vaccine. People will tire and weigh up the excess mortality rate against getting regularly jabbed.

Not sure where you get every 3 months from. Advice is divided at present on whether or not more than one booster will be required, more likely every 6 months for the time being then once a year at the start of flu season ongoing.

Dan may make up his own rules, but he can't go against ATAGI advice to vaccinate people more often than they say.

Before Covid less than 50% of people got a flu shot and has been a lot less than 25% some years. It's really only ever been for the vulnerable, not the majority.

The first version had a toothless oversight committe chaired by the government and with a majority of Government members. The changes bring it into line with NSW and NZ where the oversight committee is chaired by the Opposition with a majority of non-government members
It didn't even have a parliamentary committee, it was an 'independent' committee appointed by the government outside of parliament.

The only parliamentary oversight was through the usual scrutiny committee, but even then the Minister could just ignore them.

The amendments also allow a vote of a combined parliament to remove any ridiculous restrictions, which was a change from needing a majority of both houses which would never happen with the Government controlling at least the lower house!!!!

If the WHO strictly followed the Greek alphabet, it should be called the Xi variant

I assume you mean this Jill. https://www.theage.com.au/national/melb ... 59dka.html

I don't believe I ever met her, but they're a good crew at Angliss. Very sad thing to happen.

POLICE are searching for three people who escaped from the Howard Springs quarantine facility this morning.

NT Police confirmed three people scaled the fence and fled the Centre for National Resilience at 4.40am.

It is unknown if the fugitives are international or domestic arrivals or close contacts connected to the Katherine cluster.
Seriously? What is wrong with these people.

And this,
The incident is the second time in a week that a returned traveller has escaped from quarantine at Howard Springs.

Just last week a 27-year-old male allegedly absconded from the facility and was later found by police at a bar on Mitchell St.
I mean, really? They should have just taken him to the East Alligator River and told him if he could swim across he would be free. Could also be a scientific experiment to see if Crocs catch Covid.
