And grumpy Covid commander wants to attack people for not getting tested when there are hundreds of thousands without power, heating, food, homes have been destroyed, others are under serious threat and no one has been allowed out of the house for 2 weeks so haven’t visited any exposure sites!!!

Sometimes you’ve got to wonder what sort of things go through their minds...

The Government states that: "The one new locally-acquired case is a primary close contact who has been quarantining throughout their infectious period."

Think Positive, the COVID presser is about to start - but there was a "floods" presser earlier and Merlino was asked some questions about COVID. The ABC blog has this:
Merlino 'expects to announce further easing of restrictions' later in the week
We're getting into some COVID questions now.

Acting Premier James Merlino said it's his expectation that "by later in the week, we will be in a position to announce further easing of restrictions for Victoria and further easing for metropolitan Melbourne."

"That is my expectation. We have heard, as I am sure you know, one additional case, a primary close contact already in quarantine. That is a good thing," he said.

"But we are not over this out yet and we have to drive it into the ground."

Love the colourful language "Drive it to the ground"

Anyway, did my bit, again. Went to the Kingsbury market this morning for a walk around. Everyone all masked up outside except for those eating or drinking cos we all know you can't spread or catch Covid while holding a coffee or eating a donut.

Went to Woolies after that and on the way home, saw a sign saying Covid test this way, on the grounds of Latrobe Uni.

Thought, "WTF, I'll go in and if it's busy I'll leave" . There was 1 car in front of me. In, tested and out in 15 minutes total.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

It's also another way to restrict mobility.

20,000 people get tested today, that's 20,000 people isolating at home for the next 24-36 hours.

I think I only successfully checked in once yesterday, don’t know if it was Service Victoria failing under high load or the phone network still affected by the storms but it wouldn’t load at multiple sites.

the services Vic App works fine for me every time, I've been really diligent about using it. So have most people where I've been going.

Once the Brothels re-open, I may go up to the local each day and scan in on the app without going inside just to see if I get a call from someone in DoH asking WTF drugs I'm taking :P
