Was watching the Kayo Mini from the grand final and in the 20 minutes of highlights the only sighting of #33 is during the celebrations...

Neither
Hawks are still a year or 2 away
They’ve ridden a tidal wave of weak opposition and good form and no injuries of note. There defence is solely dependant on Sicily if he’s taken out of the game there in trouble.
Swans can’t win it if Grundy plays simple as that
They would be better off playing McLean as ruck and finding someone else to play forward

Former Collingwood star Adam Treloar has made the AA squad
Congratulations to him and it’s recognition for his fine form across the season playing in his correct position

These finals are going to be tougher for Tay Adams than Jack or Brodie injury permitting. The Swans could yet pinch hit with McLean and Ladhams in the ruck / fwd roles. They also have McAndrew who's a beanpole and both were too tall and fast for our VFL defense earlier in the month.
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark

No surprises here. I was one of the club’s harshest critics when that fruitloop Guy did the infamous worst deal of the decade to piss Treloar off from Collingwood.Still really angry off so I wish Adam all the best with bagging a flag.

Lazza it was a terrible deal.
But the catalyst that brought it to a head was the absolute worst deal in AFL history the Grundy deal.
Buckley has said publicly they set a limit of $700k for Grundy and stopped when it reached that. It was Eddie who decided on the final deal. He was being questioned at the time whether the club could retain players or attract players. So his ego led him to make the deal. This deal cost us players because not only was it $400k more than we could afford it was $500k more than he was actually worth.

We put ourselves in the situation (Treloar’s salary) by pushing his salary further down the road signing and upgrading others. When it got to a point when we realised we couldn’t keep pushing it down the track.
We tried to offload Sidey at first to hawks but that was stopped by Wright so we ended up sending them Phillips. But still needed to find another $500/$600k a season to balance the books. We tried to do a deal with the saints but couldn’t broker one so the only interest we got from rival clubs was the dogs where interested in Treloar. What they weren’t interested in was paying all his salary. We literally had no choices left but to make a deal to be cap complainant
Could this have been avoided even after signing Grundy ? Yes it could except for Grundy’s and his management demands on how his salary was structured. He wanted $3m of the contract paid in years 1&2 and the remaining $4m paid over the last 5 seasons.
Again Eddie agreed to this which is why we had no choices left to us but send a star player who was a required player to the Dogs. And look now he’s playing in his correct position.
Eddie and his ego and Grundy and his greed cost us Treloar simple as that

Very sad and sorry tale qldpie. Let’s hope history never repeats. Pure selfishness from a player combined with star struck and
Blinkered leaders is a recipe for disaster.

And we could have had two first round picks…

Now I feel sick.

...
When the Pies got rid of him, I correctly predicted that he might end up at a 3rd club. And when Melb. got rid of him, I posted that I wouldn't rule out a 4th club...

But... Apparently he chose Syd. for the Syd. lifestyle. And there's only one other Syd. club. And they don't wan't him. They have Briggs. So...

Oh, wait... Maybe you meant dropped from the playing 23, not traded out of the club...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Ollie Henry's 4 goals 4 behinds against WC were a teeny weeny bit overshadowed by Jeremy Cameron's 9 goals 1.

James Aish was dropped by Freo for their R22 game and not recalled afterwards.

Lachie Keeffe played in GWS's last 3 H&A games. He recorded 32, 11 & 21 hit outs in them.

Yeah, dropped from the team. Couldn't see him going to a 4th club, but could see him getting $1 million a year to play VFL for the next few years...

Lazza don’t be mistaken the deal was all on Eddie’s head
You can never blame a player or his management for trying to maximise there earnings and to be fair I don’t blame them. There 1 injury away from it being all over.
Wright has done a fantastic job in fixing the mess so quickly and should be thanked
Lessons need to be learned that boards aren’t to be involved in player negotiations
I loved Eddie but at times his ego was costly

Great to see Adam Treloar rewarded for a great season. The one player we never should have got rid of.

^ With a bit of luck, they’ll give him Nick’s Brownlow, as well as Merrett’s spot in the AA team.

The best thing, of course, is that the Club can still claim some credit for this - after all, Collingwood still pays part of his salary.
