Time will tell. It seems more infectious and worst case scenario is it's no more deadly than Delta, but the signs are positive that it's less virulent.

Personally, I'm fkn over lockdowns and restrictions, I'm happy to go out without a mask and take my chances, we're all going to get it eventually anyway.

Anyone who's that worried about it, stay the fvck at home and let the rest of us out. It's called choice.

Exactly, people should have the choice, Victorians have more done their fair share of the work, now it’s time for the government to live up to their own promises.

But Dan is in hiding today so obviously not going to happen. Also a nice convenient spike in ICU cases today…

Statistically, some of that "nice convenient spike" is people who are going to die of COVID in coming weeks. A little empathy wouldn't go astray.

Also, if it matters - and I know it doesn't matter to you because facts aren't your thing, the number of new cases today is around about the same mark it's been at for the last month or more.

By the way, what's the explanation for NSW's figure of 804 new cases today? It's the highest number they've reported for about 10 weeks - and more than 3 times the number from a week ago.

Statistically, 90+% of the people in ICU are unvaccinated. I didn't think you had any empathy for them?

Young people, out and about, mixing in situations where it's easily spread
NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant has revealed more than 150 people who were at a Newcastle nightclub on Wednesday night have now tested positive to COVID-19.

For context, that is about the size of the entire Avalon cluster seeded by celebrations at a northern beaches bowls club and RSL this time last year, spread through contacts over several weeks.

The attendees were among about 650 people at a “prom night” party at Newcastle’s Argyle House nightclub.

I guess this is what's called living with Covid. Fully vaccinated young people will continue to catch and spread it and the vast majority of them will get little worse than a case of the sniffles.

NSW is still intending to drop restrictions on the unvaccinated tomorrow, so expect case numbers to go up further in the short term.

It’s what’s called “wishful thinking” and “delusional” - but carry on.

A year ago, people would have been losing their sanity over numbers of cases and deaths like those presently being experienced. Somehow, some clever party hack rebrands that as “Living with COVID” and a large number of people who would otherwise be extremely critical of the track record of dealing with ithe pandemic swallow it hook, line and sinker.

You aren't 20 and have missed two years of your life where you can go out and meet people.

You aren't a small business owner generating little to no income during lockdowns.

Delusional is thinking we can hide ourselves away during a pandemic and no one dies.

Living with COVID is exactly that. You can make a choice and stay at home if you wish. Just don't be critical of others who choose not to live that kind of "life".
