So NSW Health has Stuffed up giving out Covid Tests Results as people got the Wrong Results

These are huge numbers, and while they are from the end of October, presumably by definition they'll linger for quite a while yet.

Long Covid covers a broad range of symptoms including fatigue, coughs, headaches and muscle pain.

Most people who get coronavirus feel better in a few days or weeks but symptoms can last longer for some, even after a mild infection.

An estimated 1.2 million people reported having long Covid in the UK in the four weeks to October 31.

Women and those aged 35-49 are most likely to report long-term symptoms.

Some 40,000 healthcare workers in the UK are estimated to have long Covid

NHS England has invested £134m to support those with long Covid and opened 90 dedicated clinics across England.

Which maybe points to two good things, this strain is less lethal, and/or vaccinations work and are keeping people from getting so sick they need to be in hospital.

NSW's daily COVID-19 case tally has nearly doubled for the second time in three days, with 21,151 infections and six deaths recorded in the latest reporting period.

Hospitalisations have risen to 763, up from 746 in the previous reporting period.

Victoria has recorded 5,919 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths as the number of hospitalisations rises.

It is the fourth day in a row the state has recorded record daily case increases, after 5,137 cases were reported on Thursday.

There are now 28,044 active cases of the virus, and 703 people have died in the current outbreak.

Hospitalisations have risen sharply in the past day, from 395 on Thursday to 428 today.

The figure includes 54 patients in intensive care, with 21 patients on a ventilator.

I'm not sure how NSW counts its ICU cases but, in Victoria, there are actually 97 people in ICU from COVID - the reported figure of 54 is just the people in ICU who are still actively infected. Thus:

The health department says a further 43 patients are in ICU but their infections are no longer considered active.

The total number of hospitalisations (1,530 before any jurisdiction other than NSW and Victoria reports) is just 21 fewer than the previous high of 1,551 on 28 September 2021.

32,940 new cases and 1,636 hospitalised cases reported today in Australia. Both (comfortably) records.

Since there's typically a substantial lag between positive testing and hospitalisation, you can expect that those hospitalisations are based on case numbers from about a week ago, give or take (when new cases were about a quarter of what they are, now).

COVID isolation is soooo 2021!!!

2022 is going to be the year of getting on with it. If you are fully vaxxed with a booster shot, COVID is nothing more than a runny nose and sore throat for one day! Isolation to avoid others getting that (even without the boosters, its just 24 hours of fatigue added in). Ridiculous. Nearly every single person in new york has covid right now. you wouldn't know that by looking at hospital numbers because we all fully vaxxed!!!! Time for government's to get with the reality of the situation on the ground.

If you have covid, do what they have done in Asia for 100 years. Wear a mask out of respect for others. but just get on with it!

I am sorry E, but this comment is totally unacceptable. COVID is NOT just a "runny nose". Read the latest report from OzSAG. Covid is an insidious and unpredictable disease which has unknown future implications, In particular, the consequences of Long Covid are not yet known, but according the OzSAG report I referenced above, the virus remains in many organs (including the brain) long after the initial infection has been fought off. It is predicted that at least 10% of those infected by the virus will be afflicted by Long Covid.
Moreover, with the emergence of Omicron, even if you have had two shots, you are effectively unvaccinated against this variant.
This is a dangerous disease,and the long term effects are unknown. Please do not spread false information about this disease.
