Let's not forget that Kerr has had off-field problems of a similar nature, and is much more of a risk, given his price tag.sq3 wrote:Makes sense to me.
WCE will ask too much for Kerr and realistically if the Blues do get Kerr - they will have to have a fire sale next year.
Cuz would be a good fit for the club with his football experience and work ethic - but I don't know how you balance that with the off field troubles.

Ben Cousins to announce preferred club on
Sounds like it might be worth watching ThenAFL: Cousins to announce his preferred club
MELBOURNE, Sept 25 AAP - Fallen star Ben Cousins will reveal on grand final morning where he wants to resume his AFL playing career.
Channel Seven have announced the Brownlow Medallist and former West Coast captain will appear on their pre-game show.
Cousins, who is fighting drug addiction, is serving an AFL ban for bringing the game into disrepute and has missed a whole season.
Nominating his club of choice will only be the first step in his comeback, because Cousins also has to convince the league he is ready to play again.
"Cousins will appear on a panel ... and will answer the question the football world has been awaiting for almost 12 months," the Seven network said in a statement.
"Cousins is also expected to outline whether he thinks he could still match it with the best in the AFL."
There has been plenty of media speculation linking Cousins to Collingwood.
Cousins appeared at Monday night's Brownlow Medal count with his mother, but declined to comment to reporters about his future.
The 238-game player, who won the 2005 Brownlow, has trained with local Perth clubs in the last few weeks as part of his build-up to a possible comeback.
Cousins played in the 2005 grand final with West Coast and then was part of their `06 premiership team.

I just can't see cousins naming collingwood if he is going to name his club on ch 7. There's no way eddie would let that happen, so my tip is he will go to the saints.
Im a bit disapointed in it all if this is the case. I'll be and already am, sick to death of players being linked to us and it never happens.
Fingers crossed eddie has allowed ch7 to get the scoop.

I would not be getting to taken back by thinking we never get palyers linked to us. Cousins has been linked to St Kilda as well. Judd was linked to Melbourne and Essendon too.Im a bit disapointed in it all if this is the case. I'll be and already am, sick to death of players being linked to us and it never happens.

I look at it this way... we have the pick before the Saints, if we want him and he wants us then its home. If Ben prefers the saints or another club.. why worry?, for I would certainly only want someone who is proud to play for the Black and White and we have a great depth of talent ready and waiting who are bleeding black and white blood trying to get into our firsts.
Same goes for me with Kerr... why get on our hands and knees pleading when for him it is the mighty dollar and who is going to offer the best.
If Ben comes along wanting to play for Collingwood then thats the only way I would like to see him in Black and White.
