Callum is building nicely and doing everything that is expected of him for a young player. Couldn't be happier with how he's going.
I must admit I have a soft spot for him because his dad was and still is my favourite Collingwood player ever. He has so many of his old mans traits it's hard not to like him.

Is he eligible for a Rising Star nomination?

I might have been wrong about this one. I just didn’t see it. Glad to be wrong!

I rated the kid last year, thought he showed something but he's taking it to another level. Some of the stuff he does is in the elite category

I'm really warming to this kid. He has grunt and is turning into an in and under beast. Once he masters his own instincts and looks for alternative disposal methods he will be as good as Swanny.

It would be great if he could develop a bit more length in his kicking.

Correct. Brown started the season with 13 games under his belt.

Therefore, he's ineligible for the award.

Positive signs, but needs consistency - was barely sighted the week before. Needs to string a few good games together to strengthen his hold on a place in the side.

Brown is in the top 30 best players according to Champion Data over rounds 7 - 10 ... no. 25.

Grundy is 7th.

Cal is playing terrific footy and looks like he will have a very solid career.
Daicos, impossible angle ... Goal!

Always liked his work rate, tackling and in close work. Finished off really nicely against the Swans. Has been putting himself in those spots all year but not quite finishing. Should of had that snap as well except Wilbur cleaned up that swans bloke on the goal line.

Thought he would be outside our best 25 for a while but geeze - the last three weeks he is really cementing his spot.

i'm with you. I did not see this development coming at all. So pleased for the kid. And i actually think he could be better than just a best 22 type. Could possibly become a difference maker.

^^^

The good news is there were a few that did.
There was a thread last year offering a broad range of thoughts as to his future or not at Collingwood. Some would certainly like their time again.

"Four of Callum Brown's seven goals this season have put Collingwood in front.

Three of those goals - against Geelong, Carlton and Sydney - have given the Magpies the lead in tight last quarters.

...

Those watching him this season have noticed his confidence growing as he uses his pace and agility to take on the game and drives his legs to power out of stoppages rather than immediately giving the ball away by hand.

He has also become one of the team's leading pressure players, regularly among the Magpies' top three on that measure."
