Well-placed sources have confirmed assistant coach Dale Tapping has tendered his resignation to Brisbane despite being offered a new deal.
Tapping had been part of Chris Fagan’s coaching staff for all five years of Fagan’s tenure, and had most recently been in charge of the Lions’ midfield.
The Victorian will return to Melbourne for family reasons. Having previously coached Collingwood’s VFL team, Tapping has been linked with a return to the Magpies where he could form part of Craig McRae’s new-look coaching lineup. Tapping has also been linked to a role at St Kilda, who last month parted ways with assistant coaches Aaron Hamill and Adam Skrobalak.

It’s a given that Leppa will come tho I suspect Craig wants Brendan Bolton as his assistant coach
As Dale Tapping had success at Lions with midfield would there be a place for him in that role
When at Pies and also Lions the feed back from players at both clubs speak highly of his communication skills and relationship skills with players
Time will tell

I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right
may i ask how jigh your standards are of JDG if you were not immensely pleased with his plpay this year. When freed up to play as much midfield as his tank allowed, he was a single functioning wrecking machine performing at a level not unlike Dusty Martin at his peak. DeGoey is a star of the comp and i think if he just keeps playing the way he did in the second half of this year, we should all be very pleased.BazBoy wrote:And I am totally happy to eat humble pie if Grundy and JDG have cracking good season
I think they are A grade definitely and will relish a new environment
In fact the whole team will “Fly Wright “
Sadly, even though some of us make 10 times what grundy makes, you cant defend grundy on this site because apparently he makes too much money.

Richmond will tell you Leppa turned players like Broad, Astbury and Short into serious defenders. His one on one work with defenders and defensive strategies are second to none.Johnno75 wrote:Leppa has quite the footy brain going by his comments/insights on Ch 7. He will be a great addition.
Re Tapping, he was doing midfield in Brisbane and Flys wheelhouse has always been forward of centre as a line coach.
A team of McRae, Leppa and Tapping looks pretty balanced to me.
With Brendon Bolton as a possible wild card to follow also ??
