Kreuger has shonky shoulders. Does that constitute being made of glass does it? He's had two operations and now he's back at training. Go through all the AFL lists, there would be at least 2-3 players at every club who have had shoulder operations. Aussie Rules football is a contact sport. You get hit in the wrong place you do your shoulder. It's as simple as that. If you delisted every player on an AFL list that has had a shoulder operation you'd lose an awful lot of champions from the game. Start with Murphy at Collingwood and delist him then.

Shoulder recos are interesting because surgeons will tell you it’s not a procedure that can be guaranteed a 100% recovery, particularly if they are to continue to be subjected to impact. You can have a couple surgeries, not get a good result but a third one can make your shoulder stronger than ever. Chris Judd was the best example of a player who suffered badly from dodgy shoulders as an U18 player. He played little TAC and APS footy compared to others because of his shoulders but ultimately he completed a successful shoulder reco at some point and his shoulders gave him few problems for the rest of his career. They were always taped but even Judd called the tape a placebo.
Krueger is obviously closing in on a return but ultimately he needs continuity on the ground if we’re ever going to accurately access his true ability. He would certainly be in this side if he was currently up and about.

Yes, but that's the benefit of hindsight that generates that stat. What was Moore's % at the time he was regularly missing games culiminating around 2018 and 2019?...nowhere near 65%. Similar with Jamie Elliot. What'sinaname wrote:Since Kreuger was drafted in 2019, he could have played 90 games of football (VFL and AFL). He has played 26 - less than 30% of games because of injury.
I think that's a good definition of being made of glass.
Even Moore, with his injuries has played 65% of possible games.
A player like Kreuger could end up playing several seasons missing very few games, thus improving the %, so you only get the definitive answer when their playing career is over. For some the constant injuries do take a toll and either player or club no longer persists. We're not there yet with Kreuger so let's just wait and see.
(P.S. Kreuger was drafted to Geelong, a club that is known to hold back playing their young draftees - to suggest the 64 possible games he missed was due to injury is just wrong - he wasn't getting a regular game hence he wanted out)
I find your lack of faith disturbing

Respectfully, you initiated the comparison by making an over-generalised statement about players who are constantly injured - never did you declare playing ability as a factor.Mr Burns 17 wrote:Pleased to see some have common sense. You compare Krueger to Moore, Elliott, De Goey. He is not in their league. Many of you pointing out every injured player to play for Collingwood would have been saddened by Max Lynch's departure from Collingwood. Look at the facts.
I take your point, but with Kreuger let's just wait and see - he is still young, and although he may not have the skill of other injury prone stars he still has shown promise and some things to like in the few games we've seen of him thus far.
