Brown26 wrote:Mitchell brings to us what we sorely needed - a an extractor. So every Pies player who had to do that job but wasn't suited to it now can rub a little wider and a little freer and has a bit more time and space. So apart from Tay Adams, pretty much all midfielders benefit from Mitchell being in the side, and even Adams gets a chop out. He can only make us better - the question in how much?

-Ben
Actually, I think Adams is one of the greatest beneficiaries of Mitchell's presence. It allows Tay to spend much more time up forward, and avoids him having his body continually used as a human battering ram in the midfield, with all the attendant injuries. I reckon it might extend Adam's career by 2-3 yrs.

I know this is the Mitchell thread - but agree with the above. I didnt know either Adams or Mitchell could kick goals!

I also think the team figured out how to win last year NOT winning clearance, and so adding in probably one of the best clearance players of the last 10 years appears to have solved that deficiency.

Could be the recruit of the year. Add that to Lipinski last year and we're going alright.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

18 clearances (10 vs Geelong and 8 vs Port Adelaide) across the first 2 games so far. The most of any player in both matches.

He's pretty much delivering what we recruited him for.

It's a match made in heaven. Just the perfect recruit, and the perfect opportunity for the bloke to be valued for his strengths. Another incredibly smart decision.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.
