I told you he is a mercenary, those of us who remember his father (Damir) leaving Richmond where he won a flag for the big bucks on offer from us, then to return to Tigerland confirmed to all that the Clokes are about self indulgence and not club and ie:teamates achievement, the apple doesn`t fall far from the tree ha Trav.
Don`t be held to ransom Collingwood by a great contested mark who is hit or miss as a kick, he is plain and simple not worth the money you are offering,
Bye bye Trav. i won`t miss you

Total meltdown here, yes it is being managed poorly but letting Cloke go is kissing any chance of a premiereship goodbye, not only that but if ends up at Carlton we are handing them number 17.
We seem to have these opportunities throughout our history were poor decisions have cost us flags, i.e. Lockett, Pavlich
If it means losing 2-3 fringe players then so be it. Work it out Ed.

The whisper i hear is that if ratten doesnt make top 4 and push foward to at least prelim, they may look at malthouse, also cloke is or rumoured to be waiting on that decision,to make his mind up if he wants to re join his former coach.
If malthouse dont join carlton,he may stay with us,
His only choice other than us,i here is carlton, thats if he mick gets back in the coaching ring.
Also david cloke was seen with melbourne officials, and david neitz game day v melb.
So melb you would think were offering something that day.

I read somewhere that Pert and Ed were meeting with his management today....
If he doesnt sign, they should turn the heat up.....
We've still got Sidey, Reid and a few others that we need to lock away.
Sidey in particular needs to be signed sooner rather than later.

Think most supporters will run the full set of expected emotions:
Starting with shock and fear that we might lose him,
Moving onto outrage and anger vented and both him and the club most likely to get him at any given moment,
through to a frustrated ambivalence and a desire to see the saga end one way or the other.
and finally, if he goes, disgruntled acceptance of the situation and a willingness to look at likely replacements.
Right now, I am somewhere between telling his old man to F@$% Off and not caring anymore if he stays or goes, just wanting it done so I can move on.

how could the scum afford him? they would have bugger all in their cap considering most of it pays for judd. sounds like cloke is just trying to whore himself out to the highest bidder now. the more this drags on the more respect i lose for cloke. this is getting beyond a joke. none of our other stars have played out their negotiations in public like cloke has. if it's money you want trav then leave. we've got other players to sign.

so many saying if we lose Cloke we kiss the premiership goodbye for...how ever many years.
show me a game this year where he has earnt his already "pretty good" salary?
sorry, but i dont think his "potential" is worth double.
if this is affecting his playing, explaining his quite frankly poor, form, he should care enough about his game to make a fricken decision.
if hes gunna go, fine tell us, and we can find someone else and make damn sure that the talent we have that wants to remian with us, does.
wonder how Sidey etc are feeling?
gee youll pay me if there is enough left after you pay Trav? i know who has been the more valuable player this year between the two.

Looking at those two articles, the Cloke camp met with Carlton once. I bet most of the other clubs have too probably. Apart from that fact, there is litle of substance in these articles apart from a lot of innuendo guarenteed to get some Collingwood fans frothing at the mouth, and increase Murdoch rag's circulations.
I think you've all been played by the Murdoch Press. Congratulations.

It is believed that the Blues have made centre half forward a five-year, $5 million offer should he fall out with the Pies
They don't name the source which could be David Cloke. If (and I doubt it) they were offering 5 million, after Friday night Travis should take it as it's way over what he is worth. Collingwood should remove it's offer, his performances are not worth his demands and he is becoming a liablity. Many say he won us the game against the Weagles, I would suggest he cost us the game Friday night. He did nothing.

I can't get over the emotional knee jerk reaction on here.
I hate losing to Carlton but we are equal top, 11-3 & have had several key players missing for the year.
Our form of late has been suspect and we have looked tired for several weeks now.
Cloke was threatening to leave after we won the flag, it's a stupid way to do business but that's the Cloke way, idle threats.
I still don't believe we will lose anyone, however if we do then it should never be a key forward. The media is loving this & Collingwood fans are taking the bait. For christ's sake, Cloke to Carlton? he would duck for cover everytime he heard a loud noise.

You have to remember there are some on here who have never liked him and always look for a chance to stick the knives in, its no wonder people would think of leaving given the supporters the club has
The other thing is, he is our leading goal kicker with more than double the amount of the next player (Someone else who most on here never wanted in the team) and 5 times as many goals as our other key forward, but yeah the team will be fine without him
Also for the stats people out there, this time last year he had kicked 2 more goals than he has this year, think he might be on track for another big year and it seems he hasnt lost any form at all
We already have 3 or so midfielders around the money he is asking for, its not unreasonable that he doesnt want to settle for less just because some reckon its destabilising. Besides, he hasnt signed a contract before the season is out yet but because Mick isnt here anymore, the supporters need a new target and the media need a story and what a perfect combo that is for outrageous reactions

I thought the AFL had rules against poaching players especially during the season.

We can only go by what is reported, but if Travis actually was only asking for what our other midfielders are getting, the deal would have been done, because no one is on more than $750K.
And if anyone was going to be on more than that, Swanny and Pendles would deserve that kind of money ahead of Travis anyway.
Could you imagine Swanny or Pendles holding out for a million large if every 2nd kick they had missed it's target? Because although Cloke is a contested marking monster, his kicking is woeful, and he is only doing half the job.
If he was a better kick he would be worth the money he's asking for.
As it stands, there may be better options. Has Kurt Tippet signed up yet?

IF both Cloke and old man MM join the Scum-god only knows how the pricks could afford both-they will be utterly despised by Woods fans forever, and forever be known as the Traitorous Duo. I may be old school, but deceit and deception-leading our club up a garden path for months on end-is something I cannot abide. ! The sands of time are running out for Cloke and his old man, Cloke aint no Buddy, he should pull his bloody head in, not hold the club to ransom like this. End it now. !
