I reckon it sounds funny too despite it being f*cking dangerous. Hope they nail the b*astards.

This one made me laugh a bit too:

Cyclist reacts to bingle by stealing luxury Mercedes Benz he rode into in bizarre New Year's Day incident:

Hope they nail the b*astard here too.

They're the ones you would be forgiven for hitting. Like some of the self entitled douches on Beach Road, they're the ones who wind motorists up to tar all cyclists with the same brush.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

I had one rest directly in front of me at a set of lights balancing back and forth and when the lights went green he peddled right in front of me so I beeped him. He moved over and I got all the usual finger salutes and verbal abuse then when I turned down my street he stopped at the end of the street for some reason so I walked back towards him. He was again abusing me and telling me he was calling the police on me so I quietly informed him that I have a dashcam and I filumed all his antics I then walked back to my car once I was sure he was on his way and wasn't about to stalk me by seeing where I was going.

I'm going to be investing in a helmet cam. There is every day a F*ckhead of a driver driving dangerously for bicyclists, ignoring the bike lane, going through red lights, etc. There are bad bike riders too of course but the drivers can cause the death if bike riders....not the other way round.

Most drivers & most bike riders most of the time are fine. Taxi drivers are the worst though most of the time. My usual form of abuse for taxi drivers is:

"Aghrr, you're a taxi driver, of course I shouldn't expect you to know the road rules".

What is it with some drivers that don't stop at the large white strip before the lights but think it's OK to park on or over the actual pedestrian crossing or stop on the little box with a bicycle painted on it? Don't get me started on motor scooters using bicycle lanes either....

Having said that I tell off bicyclists going through red lights - which meets with all manner of replies

The Tawonga Gap, great ride up & down.

The Great Vic Bike Ride did it back when daughter no 2 was in year 7. Hairy going down but magnificent. Going over 65km's nearing 70 at some places that's for sure.

I remember there were a few teenage boys that took the corners on the hair pin bends to quickly & had "skunned" limbs !!

Mind you there a good few thousand doing it & the roads were closed to cars when I did it.

many of the cyclists go over the gap, do Mount Hotham & Mount Buffalo - (in a day). Now that's riding!!

I discovered today that the slight breeze you see from the safety of your bedroom window, from a bike seat becomes a gale force wind, and the drizzle like ice pellets shot out a gun, but you only discover this about 10 Kim's from home, and then just to add to the fun, it turns around with you.

But gee, I can drink my scotch tonight with no fear of calorie overload!

Ha ha, I'm the rider at the moment and putting up with drivers. :D

The biggest issue I see whilst riding, driving is people walking, riding with headphones in, music blaring. Recipe for disaster.

my daughter was doing just that this morning, but on a proper bike trail, not on a road way, a trail bike (illegal where we ride) zoomed past her on a narrow walk bridge, she got a fright and hit the side of the bridge pylon, nasty scrape on her arm.

I do it too, have to have music or cant get into it!! but im so deaf anyway doesn't matter, cant hear things coming up behind me, ever!!

I wouldn't ride on the road, but if I did, I wouldn't have headphones in. oh and you forgot talking or checking out the internet on a mobile!! ive seen people walk into poles!!

i cycle with earphones in but the thing that most cyclists really struggle with is awareness of their surrounds and the understanding that when on the roads they are considered by law to be a vehicle and, thus, must obey the road rules. i am always trying to establish eye contact with drivers and give them an indication of my intentions.

Little gears - I peddle fast don't seem to go anywhere but it doesn't hurt? So is that low and 1?

I tend to stand up quite a bit. I'm not the most patient person in the world!

I wore my epulse heart monitor this time, it constantly measures on the inside of your forearm. I kept to min 146 for a break after a sprint, mostly in the 150-155 range, with sprints and effort against wind/hills to 164, (I'm 50 so my max heart rate is 170, but that doesn't really take fitness into account, so I go past the 90% recommendation! Um, well from time to time! probably a bit too often!)

It's not a bad workout. I had too many clothes on, so was hot and sweating to quickly, but it seemed chilly when I left. Next time I'll go back to shorts and a singlet.

I just bought a source pro hydration backpack (good for jogging to so..) from eBay, cos I don't even have a bottle holder on the old bomb bike! And I was dying of thirst, and even the bugs I swallowed ( how do u stop that by the way?) were thirsty.

The plus side, my arse ain't sore yet!

And thanks for the info, much appreciated
use the big cogs for uphill, little cogs for the flat. also, if cycling up a hill it can help if your sit towards the back edge of your seat and this will extend your arms a bit.
