If there is going to be a trade then my suggestions include:

Pick 4 & Aish to join his South Australian mates at Collingwood.

Pick 4 & Lewis Taylor

As for his Father being ill which is unfortunate and I hope he gets better. If Beams plays for Brisbane he will be away every second week. One of our best players wants out and he is using the "family reasons" to get out of a contract.
You are one thoughtless F*ckwit mate - if after all that has been presented to you, you still can not see what this poor young man is going thru then you are the most feral person I have seen on any posting site and should be banned for you atrocious comments and disregard for the seriousness of a family member with Cancer.

Have you ever been with someone with Cancer - do you know the bullsh*t you have to go thru as a partner or family member to those suffering. The time needed to get them to chemo, to put up with their very down moments when they struggle and get angry.

You are one appalling human being and I hope that when it is somehow proven to you once and for all that Dayne is going home to care for his father that you have the balls to write to Dayne to apologise for making such a horrible family situation look like a personal improvement motive.

You my friend are one low life. And if I am booted off then this site is run by corrupt people..... also with no soul.

Down right disgusting posting.

Are you serious? What sort of person do you think he is?
Yep I'll use my very sick father as an excuse to extract more money out of my next contract. Jesus someone burnt you big time didn't they to have this attitude.

If he leaves, he leaves. Hope he doesn't but if it was my dad I know what I'd be doing.
He is not taking less money to go to Brisbane he is going to get a lot more money and I put it to you? Are you seriously ignoring that fact?

Lost my Mother 18 years ago and my Father 2 weeks ago from Cancer so stick the high moral ground firmly up your clacker. It's my view he wants out, end of story.

Why can't we just let him take a leave of absence and treat it as if Dayne had a long-term injury?

Well for that I am sorry but feel that with that experience you should have more 'Empathy' for this young man.

Unfortunately, some people can't see above their own height and always project their morals and thoughts on to the rest of us - often with the belief of some superior insight.

I call them the middle-bands -just a fraction above the average intelligence with a grossly incommensura te ego. You're a classic case Culprit.

Everything about Beams speaks of character - it's a real shame you can't appreciate it and have to drag everyone back into your swamp.
Fair go Frank!!! You're a bit harsh on the """just a fraction above the average intelligence"" sector there matey!! In fact,I rate Culprick a little below Collie Dog and Defender in the IQ stakes and those 2 have a combined IQ a little less than a football bladder.
I submit this as a contender for post of the year.

PMSL.

Exactly right, there is a mass walk out at Collingwood, which will only continue over the next few years. Eddie will never get rid of Buckley because he would be admitting he made a big mistake.

Was thinking the same.

Before I go on I will state this above and beyond all:

I support whatever decisions he makes on this matter as what is stated is true. Family before footy.

But I will ask a few questions as I just hope the club and Dayne can find a way here.

If I step back from the emotional side of things and think purely from a football perspective.....how many away games will the brions play this year? Would he not spend a significant amount of time away regardless?

I am positive there has been a similar case in the past of an afl player living and training interstate and only flying down for match day. The name escapes me. Could we offer Dayne a similar arrangement? Would it be worth the logistical mess?

I guess a lot of it hinges on how much he wants to play with his brother and how important that is to his father, because to play devils advocate, I just don't see that he needs to leave us necessarily.

Give him a year off paid and reassess at the end of it?

Dayne gets to be home with his father. We retain a much loved and elite player.

Perhaps I am over simplifying matters of the heart?

Thoughts?
No Pressure, No Diamonds

They used to be a happy team at hawthorn.

Giving Beams time off doesn't solve the problem of his father wanting both sons playing together in the same team. Don't know how the club gets around that one.
