It appears that this farce has the potential to destabilise the entire club.Deja Vu wrote:By the way, I'm not on Twitter but apparently Caroline Wilson has tweeted something about Pert and Eddie having a massive barney today.
According to the Australian, they were meeting today in relation to Cloke's contract.

Thanks Trav & Damir. Take the money & run.

Yeah I'd be real worried about being forced into following through on a bid to get Buddy in 2014, oh no forced to pick up a superstararb wrote: It is not as simple as you think. By putting in a bid you have to be willing to follow through in case Buddy accepts. Regardless of whether Buddy accepts the bid, you have just sent out a message to Cloke that there is a million on the table for the asking, so he will step up his campaign. If you think saying "we have a million dollars for a player" is going to make Cloke accept anything less, then you have rocks in your head.
And lets not even look at your ridiculous suggestion of tossing Macaffer and/or Goldsack - maybe I've been watching different games to you, but Goldsack has been far from our worst player this year. Buckley I will give you, but Goldy is a required player. Macaffer has the past form to warrant a new contract - you must have a short memory if you don't think the kid can play...
And I'd nut Macaffer, Goldsack, their mothers and yours too for Buddy
We will feast on their bones

That's exactly how I feel about the saga! Apart from a good target up forward Travis has given us very little else and heaps of headaches off the field. You get the feeling with Tarant being played as a forward in the two's the something that is brewing may not only be Dawes related but hopefully Travis related.RudeBoy wrote:I've been saying for a while now that Carlton is after a Malthouse/Cloke package deal. I suspect Malthouse has made that a condition of him joining them. Travis aint going to Freo, but he can still live with mummy and daddy if he's at Carlton.
The fact that his management are even talking to Carlton says we should piss him off now. That is a disgrace. He was entitled to negotiate hard to get a good deal from Collingwood, but $750-800,000 pa is without doubt a very good deal. Of course he can get more in the open market, so if that's what he wants then piss him off. I'd rather have players willing to sacrifice a little dough in order to play with Collingwood.
Quite frankly this greedy bastard is threatening to sabotage our finals campaign. Drop him Bucks. Phuk him and phuk his old man.

Cloke will go to Carlton over Eddie's dead body.

Well if he goes,he will av 2 goals against us,no more than 5,as thats the best he has scored in one outing.
I think nate brown could take him, with maxwell playing loose in front.
Play him towards the boundary and his sure to miss,
Im just about convinced his gone,if he really wanted to play for us,he would take the nearest offer,
Not try dry hump the club, because shit clubs like freo, melb, dogs offer a extra $200000.
That made clokes ego/football ability grow in his jocks, not on the field.
Personally as a favourite of mine,it saddens me to watch this crap go on,
Father is taking each offer, and bulking that on top of collingwoods offer, working out in clokes terms, hes worth a mint.
Its getting really ugly now.
Carlton are gonna sneek another foward from us.

I have zero respect for Cloke. I'd make sure we resign Beams, Reid etc and what ever is left of that say to Cloke take it or leave it. No one is bigger then the club. Why can Pendles, Swan, Thomas, Shaw etc All resign for less just to stay together and build a dynasty? What makes Cloke so special that he is doing the opposite and he is asking for more.
That is upsetting us members/supporters imagine what it would be doing to the team and it's harmony when the rest of the boys are taking pay cuts and Cloke is trying to milk the club dry.
I say give him an ultimatum. Take it or leave it.
This is a guy who can't kick straight. Can't break a game open. Has never kicked more then 5 goals in a game. Overated for mine.
Reid , Beams etc would hurt me more losing them.
Even if Cloke stays he has lost my respect. That is my opinion

But yeah smart coaching that, except he kicks more from the boundary than directly in front
PS do him a big favour and play Taz on him, he averages about 5 goals a game against him

I wonder if he actually sings the Side By Side bit of the song after a win these days, or is he doing a Milli Vanilli.

Free agency is going to destroy the fabric of the AFL.
Free agency is supposed to be about facilitating player movement, theoretically for those players seeking new opportunities and a new home. It was supposed to help out the fringe players and the disgruntled players, or the veteran players seeking to extend their careers.
It wasn't designed to get the stars of the competition to hold their clubs to ransom, although clearly it can be used that way.
If this scenario continues, watch for clubs to start offering talented players up for trade before they reach 25, knowing that the players will walk for nothing once they are eligible for free agency.
The "restricted" part is a nonsense too. As if any team would be in a position to match the best offer, given that the AFL so stringently enforces the salary cap.

Now we are talking, Leigh Brown might have been the prototype but this guy is the finished productDeja Vu wrote:I asked before and I'll ask again - has Kurt Tippett signed?
He is eligible as a restricted free agent isn't he? Do you think 750 large will dislodge him from Adelaide?

Caroline Wilson does not use twitter, there is someone who uses her name on twitter and does silly tweets....the twitter name is @carowhine wilson. It's quite funny sometimes.Deja Vu wrote:By the way, I'm not on Twitter but apparently Caroline Wilson has tweeted something about Pert and Eddie having a massive barney today.
