Exactly. And, to think of it another way, so is the person who put him in the coma. Or the person who abuses children. They were all children at one point and had mothers who loved them (presumably).

The impression one often gets is that there's a good chance it will make you more parochial, selfish, narrow-minded and ignorant! But it might just make you time poor, meaning you have less opportunity to learn about the world beyond your immediate duties, leading you to rely more on TV chatter and grandma's stories than serious knowledge.

I'm a good mum, my kids just , well they CARE. They couldn't do that.

David, make no mistake, I would die for my kids, I ran in front of a car heading for my daughter (idiot husband chasing poodle, daughter 3, chasing him) without a seconds thought

David, my father is a seriously abusive man, mentally, physically, thankfully, not sexually, I'm a great mum I don't know weather it's because of or in spite of, but my kids, they are me, I just cannot imagine them hurting

When junior went down on Monday with a maybe broken wrist, OMG, how I did not cry I don't know, it broke my heart, she was howling, I'm the coach, I think I've cried over everyone of those kids, all the kids I've coached, why am I like this? Why do I have empathy for all those kids? You've seen the comments of my best friend on Facebook, I cry for her kids. I run to them when they go over, she doesn't! Is empathy a failing, or is it a blessing. I hurt. But that's ok. I'd rather feel, than not feel. In the end, my mum didn't feel. Pain was good for her because it was better than feeling nothing. That's so sad. I'm a roller coaster, I know that, and that's ok.

I hope, one day, you get that, I reckon your a good kid. Nothing is better than those Higgs, but you have to have the lows to appreciate it.

Ms Kickett is serving a two year and six month term of imprisonment for one count of while in the place of another without consent committed offence in circumstances of aggravation, one count of common assault and two counts of breach of bail (fail to appear soon after).
