In Victoria, 2 new local cases and 0 new cases acquired overseas.
- 32,760 test results were received

The Government says that "The two new locally-acquired cases are both linked to the current outbreaks. One was in quarantine throughout their entire infectious period." So, one wasn't.

Qld has just ordered a new lockdown from 4 pm today for 11 LGAs.

And now a summary from the ABC's blog:
The restrictions in Brisbane from 4pm Saturday - 4pm Tuesday (hopefully)
From 4pm today, it'll be 11 LGAs, Brisbanites can only leave home for four reasons:

To obtain essential goods - for example, groceries and medications - but only within 10km of our homes. So, that is a stricter geographic movement restriction than we've had in the recent lockdowns.
You can leave home for essential work, school, or child care.
School or child care is only for essential workers or vulnerable families.
High schools will, for the first time, have masks for teachers, students and everyone in the school.
You can leave home to exercise with only one person who is not from your household, but you must do so within your local area so, that 10km restriction applies to exercise.
You can leave home for healthcare, to care for somebody who needs assistance, to get your COVID-19 vaccination or to get a COVID-19 test

^ Yes, I heard the CHO say that - I am waiting to see whether that is actually what she meant. If that is what she meant, the huge Storm v Panthers game at Suncorp couldn't proceed.

The article says that NRL and AFL in Qld are cancelled. That would mean no Gold Coast v Melbourne and no Essendon v Sydney, at least - as well as no Storm v Panthers.

Of the 210 new cases in NSW:
Fifty-eight cases were in isolation throughout their infectious period and 11 cases were in isolation for part of their infectious period. Twenty-one cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 120 cases remains under investigation.
So just over 70% of the new cases today were "wild" - that is, they were infectious in the community for part or all of their infectious period or else the authorities don't know their isolation status.

Raabitohs v Dragons was stopped - they were on the tarmac in Rockhampton and turned around for the Gold Coast. The double-header at Suncorp is now looking certain to be postponed. The NRL is desperate to play the Storm v Panthers game at some stage this weekend, apparently - replay of last year's Grand Final and preview of the Storm's next flag this September, so it's a huge ratings loss if they can't put it on tonight.

In Queensland, the Storm play the Panthers at 4.05 pm today at Lang Park. There may be other statistics later - but that's the big one.

Any idea yet which decade Australia will allow people to visit without quarantine? Covid passports not being planned at some level of vaccination? Both the EU and the UK have rolled one out.

My mother will have to live to 128.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

51,525,615 cases and 1,134,072 deaths in Europe so far. 838,000 cases and nearly 7,300 deaths in the last 7 days. Of course there's a "COVID passport" - the place is full of sick and dead people - it doesn't really matter who goes where there, it's all a giant bucket of virus and pus.

If everyone in Europe isn't dead by then, call us in, say, 2060. Otherwise, do a couple of weeks in quarantine.
