Well just thought I would bring this thread to the fore. Just to say I told you so!!!. We missed on a gun Midfielder and boy do we need one atm.

Silly to pass up on Priddis.

I fail to see all these supposed deficiences that were mentioned.

Take a bow bwphantom. You were certainly on the money there mate. It makes you wonder how sometimes our recruiters can get it so wrong, when others can recognise brilliant talent. I wonder how many other 20-22 yr old players there are out there who could become gun AFL players, if given a chance?

Yep...had many "Brother to Brother" discussions with the old Phantom that year and were hoping that somehow Collingwood recruiters were possibly reading these posts and taking notice (Eddie and other club officials were frequent users of Nicks back in those days)

Lol both of us watched him very closely that year...(think you stole my post and put it in the right forum back then...) Boy did we cop some shit for suggesting we pick him up.

We certainly missed out on a very consistent performer...happy to see him take home Chaz!

My instinct was that he was a talented footballer, and i agree that his athleticism was a weakness. But good footballers can overcome this. And Matty is a very good footballer. First Rookie to ever win Charlie.

1 week ago northernpie and i were chatting over coffee. My instinct told me that Priddis could win or go close to winning the Brownlow. My brother said lets put $40 on him...should have gone with my instinct!!!

Big respect to our Northern Magpie friends on this one.

I've rated Priddis ever since the 2007 QF when he absolutely carried an injury decimated Eagles midfield against us and was a clear BOG in a game we ended up winning in extra time.

I've never seen him put in a bad one against us since then either I don't think. A very, very underrated player.

Priddis is one of the best inside mids in the comp.

Credit where it's due but that's simply brilliant on your behalf!

Priddis is definitely an underrated player outside Western Australia. He doesn't standout by any means but he's a consistent and reliable player for the Eagles and has been since 2007.
