im pretty sure i would happily substitute other CHF into our forward line over cloke. that being sad he does work hard and i would definitely want him against the saints, even though he wont be there. give fraser a run , might work wonders. as for JA none of us should be fussed about him copping weeks, just means mick doesnt need to drop him and we can bring someone who contributes in some way to the team.
aside from this well gritted out boys.

Dodged a bullet tonight. What a slog.
11.5 wins. Probably garentees finals..... well almost. So a little milestone acheived tonight.
Cloke. Best result is a repremand. Most likely 1 week. Worst case 2 weeks.
I think Jack should be OK.
Blair solid effort. should hold his spot.
Reid had a bit of a horror one.

He's 23 years old.Big T wrote:That's a big call Stui, agree he is vital but on what basis do you rate him the best in the league? This kid is the best CHF in the league at the moment, bar none.
He has a physical presence 2nd only to Jon Brown IMO.
He has a tank 2nd only to Reiwoldt (St Kilda version)
He tackles hard and tackles to hurt. Often.
Name a better CHF, on form, this year. Pavlich and Pods don't count, J Brown isn't playing and Reiwoldt hasn't played for months.
On form, currently playing (not on reputation) name me a better CHF.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
Although I can see where people are coming from in relation to Jack I think you need to remember the form of Fraser and Medhurst when they were dropped before eagerly welcoming there return.
If Cloke was to miss then you'd expect Fraser will most likely come into the side as his replacement.
How this move affects the form of Brown is a great unknown as his ideal role is that of a utility not a designated forward.
Leaving that aside, at present I'd say Anthony is in a battle with Medhurst to retain his place in the side and personally I think Jack has worked hard over the last couple of weeks to play a more team centric form of football that has just shaded the form of Medhurst prior to him being dropped.
I'll be waiting with interest to see how Fraser, Medhurst, Rounds, Buckley and J.Thomas play in the VFL on Sunday.

A win is a win, and the choco factor was pretty big last night. We must stop those fade outs in parts of the games, that first qtr must have been a shocker, like our second qty last week. Cannot do that next week, the big boys will belt us if we do. But, we got there, and four points interstate is always good.

I'm struggling to see us winning next week with Travis probably missing. Remember the Saints have Gilbert, Fisher and Balke marking everything in their defensive 50. JA is like a headless chook at the moment. I just feel with Travis out we might be completely outmarked and out muscled in the air. Especially with Riewoldting and Kosi back. Perhaps we can go small with Davis and bring in Medhurst. I don't know. But this unsettled forward line will possibly cost us our chance at the flag. Now if only JA could stop trying to make all his first efforts a shot at glory and think his way through the play and keep his head for second efforts we might have a chance.
BTW I don't think JA will be suspended.

Ben Johnson had an outstanding start to the season but has only been serviceable at best over the last 4-5 weeks.
Looked slow tonight and only gathered the 13 touches at 46% disposal efficiency.
If Buckley could play a blinder in the VFL might he be a viable alternative to Johnson against the saints?

well everyone bags MM for leaving players when they are clearly in the SH*T, but he made the right call tonight with Ben Reid - his first 10 min must have been heartbreaking and soul destroying (plus i noted the encouragement heater gave him after the 2nd incident, good leadership there) but he bounced back and did some good things in the rest of the game,
he just a kid, and i had my doubts but not after tonight, well done Ben, and welcome!! (belated there!!)

I think it was the first qtr, he was chasing a player up the wing, another Port player laid a shepherd and Cloke went to bump him, Port player ducked and copped a forearm into the shoulder/neck areawatt price tully wrote:Haven't seen the game yet. At work although managed of a peek at the end of the 3rd & the last qtr's.
What did Cloke do, to whom & which quarter?
Some claim he is in alot of trouble as it was off the ball, but it was indeed in the play as a shepherd was being laid and Cloke was chasing the player with the ball
Main concern is whether they have decent footage to get him off, otherwise its the umpires word from 50m away who ran over and whipped out the book as if all his birthdays had come at once
