Maybe we need to remind employers about a little thing called PRIVACY, what "we" do in our own homes including whats meant to be a PRIVATE chat should be our own business.
How would you feel if Nicks PM's were used against you in your own employment? I'd be pissed off.

Listening to Ed this morning he sounded like the kid might have been set up, there is an app out there that can record a snapchat convo to be replayed later on. We have no timeline.

Also as David said how old is the girl because the vague teenage girl line is b**lshit, if she is over 16 they did nothing unlawful and no one has suggested the guy did anything unlawful.

I think Carlton have over reacted and I hope the kid gets a good lawyer!

Once again, the AFLPA (you know, the body designed specifically to stand up for players rights?) supported Carlton's stance on Bootsmas dismissal. Those saying Bootsma has been hard done by here should really take note of that, because it's pretty rare that the players association are fine with a players contract being terminated.

I don't think the Scum or the AFLPA have over reacted, he obviously doesn't know that a SnapChat pic can be screen shot!

Even if he did send it to over an over 16yo girl, she might've had friends who were younger with her at the time & they all saw it...

Along comes the mother, freaks out at the girls looking at what appears to be porn & reports it.

I would have thought, in this case, the police would have an obligation to investigate it (seeing it made the media and the words "teenage girl" are in there), and I'm not sure what age it is, but if the girl is younger than x and if he did send a dick pic, he'd be put on the sex offenders register?

He pulled out of their Gold Coast game on gameday last year with gastro.
He then proceeded to go for a walk on the beach with his girlfriend while his teammates were out on the field.
During this walk, he took multiple happy snaps and posted them on Instagram or whatever.........

Is this guy the full quid??

I'd say Carlton were waiting for a good enough excuse to tear up his contract.
And boy, has he gone and provided it for them!!!!

Part of his employment conditions are to keep in reasonable shape to play footy, he also apparently failed this condition more than once. In fact a top draft pic could not get his act together to make a real crack at the top level.

Now to top it off, they have a parent of a teenager upset about nude pics sent to her daughter, teenager, teenager, teenager. He would have been drafted around the time of the saints bullshit, is he a total moron? Let's not forget the girlfriend in hospital as the story breaks about to have his baby.

But the second paragraph doesn't matter in the case of his employment, he's been warned several times for various non compliance to his contract and Carlton had every right to sack him. Good on them.
First off, his girlfriend is totally irrelevant to this. That's between her and her boyfriend. It is not the business of the club, his teammates or us.

Secondly, the "teenager teenager teenager" was how old, again? If over the age of consent, then the poor guy hasn't even done anything wrong. The fact that her mother freaked out doesn't necessarily imply that her daughter was underage; would you stop being protective of your kids the minute they turn 18? Let's also not forget that Josh is hardly some 50-year-old predator soliciting images from young girls; he's barely out of teenage years himself.

Thirdly, I agree with you on turning up late and so on. Those are the sort of things that clubs should be able to discipline players for, up to and including sacking for repeat unprofessional behaviour. But that's not what he was sacked for.

I hope this isn't the last we've heard of it, because I really hope that the kid's management pursue this.

As I said the second paragraph doesn't matter,

What if he was wearing his Carlscum jumper doing the deed?

By the way the paper reports his management were involved and accepted the decision.

It does sound like he has had prior chances and this was the straw that broke the camels back, sadly for him. To be honest I think he was a goner at seasons end anyway, I think he just fast tracked his delisting.

Seems he and management have come to the conclusion that he's done wrong and will accept the terms of his sacking and will need to try and redeem himself to get another chance or just play local footy.

From what I understand the kids management and the AFLPA have both agreed he has no case.

I'm not going to bother arguing with you about why Carlton's action were entirely appropriate because it's a total waste of time, you refuse to understand.

Apparently not only was he late more than once, he also allegedly had other issues with his training regime and following instructions and also allegedly got in trouble for social media previously by posting photos of him and his partner on a QLD beach when he was supposed to be in bed in his hotel room too sick with Gastro to play that day. But of course they're just facist scum.

What you do in your own home maybe. Sending a picture of your penis to people via a social media application is taking it out of the home.

Well, a PM is a private communication, not public like publishing something on Facebook or Instagram is, and I'm quite careful to ensure that my online behaviour complies with my employers Social Media policy. So if my employer was in a position to TRY to use something I'd done online against me, that would mean I'd either stuffed up or they had no case.

OK I'll try again maybe take your time and read it slower this time.

Would you consider a Direct Conversation on Facebook >private communication<? because that's the equivalent of the service he used.

Not quite but for the sake of argument I'll play along. My facebook is under a pseudonym. I have no one from work as friends, I don't have my employer listed, there is no reason people who don't personally know me would link my facebook profile with my actual employer.

This dipshit sent a dick pick to someone who in all likelihood made friends with him on social media BECAUSE of who he was in real life. Direct reflection on his employer starting to become apparent?

Would you like me to type that again slower?

Which bit did you miss?

The bit where you stop making excuses and just answer the question.

I didn't ask about your name or who your FB friends are as it has no baring on the question. Now stop making an Rss of yourself and answer it properly.

Oh for (mates with) sake. If he had posted it in a PM, maybe only the girl would see it, but, fact is, it's just a dumb idea to put something on the web you don't want the world to see. It's call print screen, you can save anything. Nothing is ever truly erased. It's like damn atoms.

He was stupid.

Another kid with a chance to earn a living, a bloody good living, doing what for most of us would be a dream job. The silly arrogant bugger was to slack to keep his end up. No one to blame but himself. Gees go on the Carlton board, they are glad to be rid of him, they want a few others to flop their dicks out!

And come on let's face it, he looks like the poor kid in all those wierd memes, he ain't picking chicks up for his looks!

Yeah yeah I'm awful, but I'm also 100% right
