Grundy was huge around the Ground.
Pendlebury was good and Involved lot.
Reid was huge Down Back.
Aish had his best game. Used Ball Well, got 9 contested Touches,Tackled and Marked Well.
Treloar had his 2nd down game vs Blues.
Moore got lot of Marks but ball use was down.
Cloke was good leading up and Taking marks on Wing.
Cox did nothing?

Pies v Blues

We are a long long way off the pace. We may not score next week.
The last quarter in particular was TERRIBLE from both sides.
Endeavour from boys was good but as usual, incredibly poor use of ball was frustrating. I want to know how it could be Buck's fault that the players make such dumb decisions and kick to the opposition.
All I can say is that I was soooo glad that the pipsqueak silvagni did not kick a goal.
In all fairness {which is hard} his effort was good but the lack of composure under pressure told. GOOD.
Happy to see Clokey taking some marks. Now he just needs to kick the goals. Nice to have Goldy back too. Sinclair tries his guts out and although his delivery is not the best, his chasing and spoiling was good tonight.
'MADE IT LEGENDARY'
Agree it was sloppy. you really need a settled team in order to look fluid. we haven't had it all year.
Bucks said it best. In a chain of possession where everyone is doing everything correct, if one guy screws it up, its usually fatal as players don't expect the error. good teams have all 18 players executing and that is why they can take the game on.
Get Adams and Faz back into that side (for Phillips and someone else - not actually sure who) and let them play for a few weeks together and you might start to see some good things happen.

This was a good win. A consistent effort over four quarters where our defense held up throughout. With some of the kids we're playing we're not going to play top footy, especially with our weakened forward line, what we can do is provide a consistent effort and we did that tonight.
With 20 first half touches, Pendlebury was clearly best on ground, but one of the big positives for us this season has been the form of Sinclair. He was very good again tonight, one of our top few.
Of the rest: Aish payed his best game for the club, hopefully he can build on that. Grundy continued his good form and Reid was excellent down back with Brown and Golsack also doing their job. We also finally saw Varcoe somewhere near his best.
The not so good: Williams was very quiet with only 7 disposals, Phillips struggled and Cox again did not do enough.

Treloar was lazy going back
Trav ignored too often when free
Degoey ..... Needs to step up
Sinclair must have been BOG, because he would have got votes from both sides!!!! He hit as many blues as he did pies!!!
Grundy really good
Need to get Varcoe more involved as he is class when he touches it
Pendleton sublime
Cox maybe needs a rest
But what a crap game!!!

The big positive change since the round 7 debacle is how much better the defence looked with Nathan Brown and Ben Reid back together and controlling the space back there. Thus, even though Collingwood only managed 8 goals, they kept Carlton to 6 (as compared to 15 in round 7). Casboult starred against us in the previous game but he only had 4 kicks last night. Indeed, he and Everitt kicked 6 goals between them in round 7 but only managed one point last night and they were barely sighted.

As far as skill goes this was a complete bust of a game but we won and that's the main thing.
Several positives
Grundy was simply awesome
Pendles was again brilliant
Greenwood did a great job on Gibbs
Aish played his best game for the club and showed signs he's going to be ok
Reid was reading play before it even happened
Cloke worked hard on and off the ball and did some nice team things
Varcoe started to find some touch after a few quiet weeks
Sinclair's run was good disposal was ordinary
Howe was solid again
Moore didn't get hurt and kicked a goal !!
We over used the ball way to match and this stop start going forward crueled any chance Cloke & Cox had of being dominate
Not so good
Treloar didn't handle Kurnow's tag that well (only 3rd time this year he didn't get to 30 touches)
Sidey wasn't tagged but had nil influence on the game again
Cox looks a little tired might need a rest in the seconds
Williams shouldn't be allowed to kick the ball
Any time you beat the scum it's a good day
GWS will murder us if we play like that next week but if we bring our best who knows what could happen. Maybe they think it's won already and forget to turn up who knows
