"Richmond are bracing for bad news in relation to ... Riewoldt, fearing that he has broken the scaphoid bone in his wrist...

He was set to have scans on the injury, however it’s understood Richmond suspected a scaphoid injury which could leave Riewoldt sidelined for about two months."

(The Age)

I've no idea why they left him on the ground. Fools.

Still, the R&R injuries are maybe in the "accidental" category and not the S&C or medico guys' fault. We have to wait and see whether Cotchin & Martin go down too.

That's their bookends out.

Rance for a year and Jack for 2 months?

Like I said earlier, they sold a lot of their depth to get Lynch.

Can Martin and Cotchin keep the ship from sinking?

"... confirmed that scans revealed Riewoldt had a small undisplaced fracture of his radius and ruptured a ligament in his wrist"

Another question worth asking: Is it actually Hawthorn that are good at S&C, rehab, etc.?

Niall comments:

How a discarded Tom Scully ended up in a Hawthorn jumper so soon

Well, yes - they've got O'Meara on the field and they had Burgoyne play about 925 games and win about 15 Norm Smith Medals after he was finished at Port.

If they are without any of their Fab Four next week, Port really should smash them.

We're getting a little off topic with suspensions, so...

I see Rich. are getting heaps of AFL dosh (no prize for guessing which club gets the least). It shows that membership figures are just a marketing exercise. Rich sell all those cheap 3-game memberships and inflate the numbers, claiming "records", etc. WCE charge a fortune for home-game memberships and rake in the dosh.
