Leyonhjelm and the Christian Democratic Party candidate (not, contrary to my assumptions, Fred Nile, who wasn't up for election this time around) have both missed out. Final results:
Coalition 8
ALP 7
Greens 2
One Nation 2
Shooters & Fishers 1
Animal Justice 1

Together with the Legislative Council members elected in 2015, that makes the total makeup of the NSW upper house (with 22 needed for a majority):
Coalition 17
ALP 14
Greens 3
One Nation 2
Shooters & Fishers 2
Animal Justice 2
Christian Democratic Party 1
Independent (former Green) 1
Means balance of power is shared by Mark Latham, Fred Nile and the Shooters & Fishers. Hope there's enough disagreement between those three to prevent a coherent agenda to push the NSW government further to the right.

Quite possibly - opposing ideology that's for sure but each represent people who hold the same views and in the end as long as the people (all the people) are represented well that's how democracy should work yeah?stui magpie wrote:Do the Shooters and Fishers and the Animal Justice parties cancel each other out?
But I am absolutely deliriously delighted that Leyonhjelm is gone
