If Port got up by a point, we'd be saying it was the greatest game ever.
No, I thought it was a snooze-fest. I didn't care who won (if it's not Collingwood, then my position is "anyone but Carlton"). It was close all night but it was a game that offered few highlights. It's the state of the game as a spectacle, not the participants, that worried me.
exactly the afl brand of the game is very poor viewing i must say very hard to follow there seams to be no strategy either its a case of tap it forward at all costs and no real skill either its like a pin ball machine only played on an oval with a piece of lether (the ball object) flying around in all directions.

To be fair, it was wet and raining all night. Hardly the ideal conditions for kicking a huge score.
What surprised me more was the number of deliberate out of bounds frees paid. I thought on a wet night and final, they would have been a bit more lenient, especially kicks that went mostly forward.

When the Port player #8 panicked and got pinged in the last term for deliberate, I had a flashback to 2007PF against Geebung, when Clement [#8] got done for the same thing, and Mooney arsed a goal out on 3/4-time, which was enough to influence the final margin by games end.
