Geelong has traded 2 more younger players out today;

Nakia Cockatoo (Pick 10, 2014) to Brisbane in return for a future third-round selection (tied to Melbourne).

Lachie Fogarty (Pick 22, 2017) and a second-round pick (currently No.38) to Carlton in return for a second-round pick (currently No.30) and a third-round pick (currently No.51).

Fogarty has had 2 injury interrupted seasons and Cockatoo has struggled to get into the team.

Looking back at drafts between 2014-2018, they've traded out a lot of those players picked.

Promising young players, 23 and under:
Jordan Clark, 19 (Linked to WCE/Freo. Likely to stay now)
Cooper Stephens, 20
Sam De Koning, 20
Charlie Constable, 21 (Asked to look for another club. Essendon linked early on)
Gryan Miers, 21
Esava Ratugolea, 22 (Linked to GWS, but turned down)
Brandan Parfitt, 22 (Wanted by GWS)
Sam Simpson, 22
Jack Henry, 22
Zach Guthrie, 22
Quinton Narkle, 23 (Linked to WCE/Freo. Likely to stay now)

With a trade expected for Higgins and Cameron to come, I wonder if they'll make a surprise move to get some younger tallant in?

If it's not about money, an it's about winning a flag, I dont know if the Cats have long left to get one before they're absolutely screwed.

Pick 30 to North for 33 year old Higgins who is chasing that elusive flag.

Maybe he should have stayed at Footscray then?

That's generally not a question posed by Collingwood supporters given Buckley and Molloy's experience.

Hope the trade falls over, and he goes to the draft, and gets taken by Norf.

With three picks.

Geelongs first pick will be in the 50s.

They have well and truly gone for the all or nothing in 2021. Time will tell if it pays off.

But the media will cast them as heroes until their flag is out of reach, then the media will turn on them.

^ Don't they have money left over after trading Kelly last year?

Lachie Fogarty looking like a good pickup for the Blues.

Cameron yet to play for Geelong. Higgins three games and injured.

Scrapped thru vs Adelaide, extremely lucky to beat the Lions, scrapped thru vs Hawthorn, currently playing the Dees.

Early days yet, especially with Dangerfield suspended. But I still think they've sold their future for a crack this year. And they may have missed their chance.

What an absolutely crushing defeat.

Can Geelong recover for another crack in 2022?

They’re H&A specialists. I wonder if their home games at Geelong help them make top 4 every year?? I guess that’s worth an extra 4-5 wins per season. Maybe they’re a 7-8 team in reality being flattered by getting easy kills at Skilled Stadium or whatever they call it now.

I’ve said this every year since 2011, and they just keep haunting me. I’m wondering what favours they have left, or if they have handedover all of the negatives, because as the post above said, I know the geefrickenlong lifestyleis a good one, but that looks like some mighty big salary reductions to be able to pull it off.
