3rd test tonight.

Looks like Murphy in for Lyon, no brainer.

Suggestions that Boland might come in for Hazelwood as a precaution and some chatter that Green is a bit sore and may be replaced by Mitch Marsh who, along with Maxwell, has apparently pulled out of The 100 at Cricket Australia's request.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

I've had a couple of dollars on the Aussies and a dollar on the draw at $5.50. I think days 4 & 5 will see some rain interruptions.
Don't count the days, make the days count.

At Lords, Atherton told viewers the stat that
when Flat-Track Bully Steve Smith faces bowling above 90mph, his average is halved.

So England wanted to play FTB's tormentor, Jofra Archer, of course. But with him out injured, they counted on Wood. But Wood admitted to Stokes that he couldn't guarantee getting through the Lords Test. So they had to play Tongue.

Morgan said it was weird having Wood in the squad but not playing him. But his fellow commentator said maybe England think he rehabs/trains better with them than his County side.

Now Wood is in. Let's see how he goes against FTB!!

Video of Jofra Archer destroying Flat-Track Bully Steve Smith's defective technique in the 2019 Ashes:

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket ... 5d40f.html .

Sheesh, FTB is hopeless against the short ball.

The first delivery in the video (where FTB gets hit on the left elbow) is barely above stump height. (Look at the slo-mo replay in the video at 0:28 on.) FTB just flinches down into it.

The second delivery in the video is the famous one where FTB's defective ducking technique got him virtually KOed. (Tendulkar made a video demo'ing how it was defective. Dunno why! The live commentary, by Atherton or someone, made it clear enough how it was defective. No real need for a video by Sachin.) Shoulda been a harmless delivery.

The headline of the video says "brutal deliveries"... Bollocks!! They're only brutal to flat-track bullies with defective techniques. Look at Archer's Test record now. Very mediocre. When you see FTB destroyed by that on a flat pitch, imagine how he'd go against Holding, Marshall, Garner & Roberts on pitches fair to bowlers. They'd have totally destroyed him.

Congratulations to SPD Bradsmith - he goes into his 100th Test with the best average after 99 Tests of any batsman, ever.

Oz 2/42.

FTB has just joined Marny at the crease.

Not a great start for Oz. Warner out to Broad yet again. Khawaja inside edging on to his stumps yet again. Wonder if FTB will be out LBW swiping across the line of the ball to leg yet again.

But luckily for FTB, Khawaja's wicket was the last ball of Wood's spell. So FTB can start against trundler Robinson. Robinson bowls below 80mph. So slow!! Against bowling above 90mph, FTB Smith's average is halved, as Atherton told viewers.

Are these English cricket grounds tiny in comparison to our own?

They look it and it's no wonder they've had some success with Bazball.
