You could probably say that had we won that game in '94, Geelong and Ablett could have taken the flag?
Hmmm.. well, I've no idea what a win to us would have done to that 94 finals fixture are far as who would have gone on to play who and where in the weeks to follow.

https://afltables.com/afl/seas/1994.html

Hawthorn would still have been eliminated by North Melbourne, as that was the first QF game played that weekend, and North were indeed lucky to get out of that with a win, after the scores were tied at full-time!
Whether Geelong and North Melbourne would still have been fixtured to play that epic PF, with Ablett goaling on the siren - I cannot say.
I recall we rolled Geelong in 94 at least once, so we were always a chance against them, and they had a very soft underbelly.
North Melbourne beat us twice without much effort both time in 94, so we'd want to hope we didn't play them again, even with our best side on the park.
We'd beaten WCE by 6 goals at MCG a month or two prior, so if we were to play them again, they'd pray for Waverly, where they last beat us in 1991.
Even if they make it to a PF, they wouldn't get back to Perth for home final.
Melbourne and Footscray were certainly gettable, even though they both beat us in 1994.
And Carlton, after finishing 2nd with W15/L7, managed to go out in straight sets; how we would have loved a SF against them...

So I hereby award the 1994 hypo-flag to.... North Melbourne, over Geelong.

I do enjoy indulging in these sliding-door hypotheticals in the off season!
