Cyberwar has come, is happening now and will most likely escalate. But the digital confrontation is playing out in the shadows, as inconspicuous as it is insidious.
Each day that passes raises increasingly uncomfortable questions. At the same time, you know that firing from inside Russia is a bid to invite retaliation to justify further escalation. To go all the way with the current strategy, the next step needs to be a Marshall Plan: for everything you wreck, it comes back ten times bigger, defended ten times more vigorously. It's going to take the patience of Job, though, and you can't leave people stuck in shelters, hospitals and bunkers. But it is one strategy, and does seem to be the current strategy.
^I agree the question has to be continually asked as it seems so wrong watching the bastard inflict that much suffering and destruction. That said, no one trustworthy is putting forward a believable path for increased aggression, presumably because the risks of escalation are real. But I definitely think at minimum we need to ensure the Ukrainian effort is well supplied and Russia makes little progress, which helps bring the sanctions and popular Russian sentiment into play.
The rebuild message is crucial as part of this, though. Not only does it encourage ordinary Ukrainians to move from harm's way, it incentivises the counter-resistance and signals to Russia that it's never going to take wider control and will face even heavier defences on its borders.
But I conclude this only reluctantly and in lieu of a believable alternative.
Zelensky just gave an address to the Knesset in which he demanded Israeli support, likening his situation to the Holocaust, and proceeded to claim that Ukraine was a safe haven to Jews during the Holocaust. An incredible level of gaslighting.
He also repeated the lie that Russia is bombing holocaust memorials. Everything about this man is fake. The ultimate showman and actor.

At some point, others need to do more to stop this, not just economic sanctions and sending in Coal and weapons.
My view is the EU needs to make a stance and tell Putin that if he sends in Syrian Troops, that will be considered an escalation and the EU or someone will also send in troops.
