Apparently Seven wanted the exclusive but they didn't get jack, I'm not sure where it was said I was told this morning it was on last night apparently.
Crackers is close to a fair few Collingwood people.

Bens manager announced the night before the interview that Ben could not state his preferred club as it would be against trade guidelines and that it could jeopordise his comeback.

Ben wisely avoided answering such questions

His manager Ricky Nixon yesterday confirmed Cousins had sought permission from the AFL to play again, but at which club was yet to be determined.
"He needs to demonstrate to the AFL that he is in a fit state of mind, that he is healthy enough to be eligible to be drafted," Nixon said.
"So I don't think he will be announcing anything tomorrow on Channel 7.
"It would be prejudicial to the draft."

hmmm, sounds like Pies could well be going cold on Cousins. From my source (let's say connected to pointy end of the ship) it seems we're questioning whether he's too much of risk. Saints may well be the frontrunners at this stage afterall.

I can really see us passing up on Cousins actually.

If we are seriously looking to the draft and looking towards 2011, then Cousins does not fit in the plans.

If however we feel we can snare a few players in trade week that strengthen our list, then Cousins really adds grunt.

Perhaps our success at trade week will determine whether we go for Cousins or rebuild.

I still think Cousins would be beneficial solely as an example to the kids about what hard running is.

mmmmm., seem to recall this time last year Judd was definitely, absolutely coming to Collingwood.

I prefer to just wait and see rather than speculate.

Yep, you're right Swoop. I was convinced a week or so back, but now I'm not so sure. But Dave could be right, it just may be a case of seeing what unfolds this week before we 100 percent make a decision on Cousins

I was certain we'd get him a little while ago. I am now like the rest, feeling like he's another that's "missed by that much".

I will be really peeved if we don't get him. FFS, it's not like we don't need a genuine midfielder is it?

If we don't pick him up, we will be looking at him getting 30 odd touches a game with someone else. Oh well! Such is Life!

Not over yet, Madness. Just don't put your house on it, that's all. From all accounts at least he wants us. It's just whether we want him, so it's halfway home.

Its a real pitty i thought that Ben would have been of real value for 3 years.
He is exactly the type of player our mid field needs.
Will be gutted if he goes to the saints or swans and does well.

has he stated he is not coming to us?
why doesnt everyone calm down. he still needs to be registered with the afl.

when that process has finished, then we will have a better idea of where cousins will end up.

i am not sweating on it, as there is no point until the afl deems him fit to continue his career.

everyone should just relax a bit!!

I'd expect Collingwood to pay their cards close to their chest until re-registered.

Let all the rumor and innuendo and Patrick Smith's of the world make shit up until then.
