We all know that any Collingwood player would've got three weeks for the attack on Bont. The media and footy public would've nodded sagely and agreed that justice had been served.K wrote:"This is big and if this was a Collingwood player there would be uproar."
Connors has been and maybe still is manager to Collingwood players. That's a ridiculous thing to say.

Saw Connors coming out last night. Why the hell was he even there?
Anyway who said two wrongs don’t make a right. Last week they got it wrong v the Dogs and this week they got it wrong v the Lions but it was the right outcome because justice was done.

Greene is nothing more than a bi product of the Giants “ brand “
When their coach comes out and says he is proud of the way Greene plays, then you know the issue is way bigger than just Toby Greene.
A good football club would have pulled him aside and harnessed him after the Bont incident.
As long as the tail continues to wag the dog, they will never win a premiership with this group of players.

This is a great, enjoyable article that mentions a change in the giants "brand", amongst other things:Pies2016 wrote:Greene is nothing more than a bi product of the Giants “ brand “

Does anyone else get the feeling this is all Collingwood's fault now??
The way everyone is carrying on. Man, listening to these people complaining, saying if it was a Pies player there would be an uproar etc.
Let me just say, I think Greene is a dirty player, but I just don't 'hate' him as I do some other players. I don't no why. I should, but I don't. He's that bloody good.
He should have got done for 4 weeks for the attack on Bont. No questions. The evidence against him for the Neale attack was weak.....until is WASN'T! That other angle is damning. The blindness of so called footy experts is staggering. Just because they want the Giants to win.
Anyway, lets move on and win tomorrow!
Go pies.

Greene should have got a week for his eye gouging of Bont, but should have got off the 2nd charge imo.
He is a nasty, dirty little mongrel, but also an incredible player. I wish he played for us.
Putting that aside, what pisses me off is the way the media are carrying on about how the giants are missing Greene and Whitfield; completely ignoring the fact we are missing De Goey and Cox, our full forward and centre half forward.

Yep and it damn pisses me off. Not just media but opposition supporters too. You don't even have to read between the lines in this article:the fuzz wrote:Does anyone else get the feeling this is all Collingwood's fault now??

They're trying to distract us and get us riled up and lose focus. **** em. Don't give them anything. It's their problem, not ours, we had nothing -- absolutely nothing, zero, nada -- to do with this, so the Collingwood Football Club shouldn't even have to damn defend itself!
Toby Greene pleaded guilty -- GUILTY -- the first charge. He faked his remorse and faked his apology, then went out the next week and did exactly the same thing again. So **** hin, and **** anyone defending this lying little turd. It's an indictment on everyone's character who says TG is victimised. Again, imagine if it was a Collingwood player who did it.

Oh FFS it's utter madness. Are these people just blind in their hatred for Collingwood (and to the video footage) or do they condone thuggery.Mr Miyagi wrote:It's getting worse. H-S just now:

I think it's time football asked itself a REAL question about its ethics (a footy pub test if you like):
If the same action committed on a football field would result in an assault charge if committed on the street, shouldn't a player be suspended automatically?
As far as I'm concerned, we are far beyond the days of the old code of "what happens on the footy field stays on the footy field". If it is criminal assault on the street, then charge the players! And I'm deadly serious Alan Jones, Derryn Hinch and whoever else might want to chime in on this - CHARGE THEM!
Amidst all of the whining about poor Toby, we are losing sight of the wood for the trees. The bottom line is, unquestionably, that there is no place whatsoever for conduct like Greene's in the AFL. He should have been given half a season for the Bontempelli incident and life on the second offence. I am appalled that there is even a question about his suspension.
I simply cannot understand why anyone (whoever they support or however peculiar their worldview) could defend Greene. His conduct has no place in any sporting activity.
I understand that people lose their cool, from time to time - I remember that even Buckley did that one day when Ling was tagging him - and there can be consequent lashing out in anger but that isn't what happened here, at all.
This was a cold and calculated act. it is quite beyond belief that anyone could think it was within the realms of acceptable human behaviour to rake at someone else's face.
