I just hate what he's doing to the club. He's got everyone arguing from the President right down to the Supporters. Whatever happens from here on, I'll never have much respect for the bloke.

As Bucks said, he's damaged his brand.

I don't really like the way this has all panned out in the past few weeks, but I still want him to stay. I hope he signs soon. We need him.

Robbo on 360 has just said he believes last nights meeting went very well. All parties agreed that no one apart from Ed and Bucks (because of their roles) was to make any further public comments. Thinks that an announcement is imminent. Coming to and end it seems. Thank God.

Well, if that's true, I'd imagine Eddie would want to announce it before going off to the Olympics.

I'm starting to think, if we hear anything, it will almost be on the eve of the finals.

'He has hurt his brand'. Does that mean Clokey may not now appear quite as advertising lovey-dovey (after revealing a self-centred, hold the team to ransom streak?).

Gosh at this rate his managers are doing him out of hundreds of thousands of potential sponsorship dollars now and later. Even VISY might think its 'ambassadors' should know something about diplomacy. Post football what is left for Travis to endorse - handgrenades and toy guns? Perhaps he should hire Dawes' Dad to sue his managers for loss of livelihood?

The irony is - that picture is not Travis Cloke the person. A beanie, cold winter's day when Pendles first started down in the puny stand at Werribee to watch his two brothers play for Willie. Gentle giant. Loyal.

For that person, I wouldn't mind whether he stayed or went, as long as he was happy (and thanks for the premiership).

There are new AFL committees, rule changes, and umpire interpretations every week. Besides the review into how this is debasing the integrity of our game ON THE FIELD, rather than on the BALANCE SHEET - have we missed this week's announcement about a review of the role of player managers?

It is an inherently self-conflictual role. Somewhat surprised the AFL presidents have not yet called for a review. Ed's mates at Galbally would jump to it. If that parochial view is the problem, turn it into a more neutral Royal Commission. Andrew D doesn't mind throwing bizillions into schemes tilting at crazy windmills. Maybe it's time we had some windmills fighting back at the AFL.

If someone as measured and as a polished media performer like Bucks comes out and says this saga has damaged Trav's and our Club's brand you better believe it. Most of us were feeling uneasy about the whole situation even before Trav's less than impressive performance on the footy show and now its got to a point where majority of our supporter base, apart from the usual suspects, don't even care if he remains a Magpie and simply want a quick resolution to this debacle one way or another.
And if Trav stays as always been expected, it will take a lot more than a couple of bags of goals for him to regain our trust.

McKenna wasn't THAT loyal. Ended up swapping to Carlton, where he finished his career (playing for Carlton reserves, when he was injured and lost a kidney). McKenna also came out blazing in the Friday newspaper before the 73 Prelim Final, saying how disgusted he was that he had been dropped from the the team for a teenage debutant (Rene Kink).

I think that's a bit of re-writing of history there PP. McKenna left because he was no longer wanted by Collingwood. If you don't believe me, just ask him.

At the time Macca wanted 25k which wasn't unreasonable for the time and a player that had literally given a kidney for the club.. but Collingwood would only pay 20k, Carlton offered 25k

So when Carman had his brain fart and got suspended for both Grand Finals guess who didn't have a key forward to slot in

A lousy 5k cost us the 77 flag
