There was a thread on this about Seven reporting it as well. It was apparently Nathan Hrovat wasn't anything really in this. Just a player spotted there it seems.
Yep, it was Hrovat.
Just running laps. It's not clear if he was there on Collingwoods behalf, or just using the running track.
I dont think there's much in this tbh.
You'd assume he was just training away from the Doggies club due to the uncertainty of his future there.

I know it's very early days in the trade period but I hope the fact that this ain't done yet is a sign that we aren't just rolling over for a very high pick.

Agreed we don't need more fleas from the scraggers!

Apparently Delidio maybe wants to go to the Dogs. Either way he wants out of Tigerland. This might stuff up the Cloke deal. I don't reckon they'd be that fussed if it fell through.

Anything below pick 45-50 is IMO unacceptable.
If the dogs won't cough up something in the 30' or early 40's then we find someone who will simple.
Enough is enough he might want out badly but that's his issue not ours. Ours is to ensure we don't get reamed over it.
Tell Demir if travis wants to hand back half of his 2015 salary and all of his 2016 salary he can go for free because that's how long since he's really earned the money he's been paid form the club.
spot on, hammer, nail. head, bang .
Unfortunately, the compensation Richmond gets for Vickery has nothing to do with how good or bad he is.
The formula takes into account the original draft pick that he went at in his draft year, which was pick 8. It then looks at the length and value of the contract his new club is offering, supposedly 2 years at $500k.
Thus, under the formula this equates to a 2nd round pick after Richmond's original 2nd round pick, which was 25, but they traded that pick last year as part of the multi-club complicated Charlie Dixon trade. Therefore, it is pick 26.
This is the same formula that netted us a first round pick when Daisy left for Carlton.
We aren't going to get a pick in the 30's or 40's for Travis, 59 is the best we are going to get, but likely to be lower.
Not saying Vickery is better, he is not good enough to carry Cloke's bags, but given Cloke's age, his poor form, that we want his salary off our books, that he wants to go to the Dogs and everything appears to point to us not wanting him, his value is deflated to what the Dogs are offering.
I get that MT and I don't like the system at all. If Vickery is worth 26 then in my mind Cloke is worth around mid 30's surely. If Cloke had triggered the salary component of his salary with us for 2017 then by those rules we would have been entitled to a better pick than we seem likely to receive.
I posted the other day I would be asking for the deal of Cloke and our pick 45 for pick 39 from them. Basically we are giving them Cloke and exchanging a pick which helps us out with points and doesn't diminish there draft position greatly. For me that would be fair

I wonder if Cloke would be interested in a move up to Brisbane?
He'd be assured of 22 AFL games a season if he remained fit. And they do need a FF.

^he clearly doesn't want to stay and play with CFC so why force it. Would make things worse and we'd be stuck with paying him.

If the deal is not done by the time council pick-up night in Footscray comes around, we know where to leave him.

True, they wanted Darcy Moore I recall. They got Pickens kid, they can bugger off now.
Pricks knew very well we weren't letting him go so just made us use a higher pick, they might not want to risk it this time.

To put Cloke's market value into its proper perspective, here's the AFL site's report on the Sam Mitchell deal:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-14/h ... y-an-eagle
It looks like the Hawks valued their late-career genuine star, still apparently near the peak of his powers, as being worth a swap of draft picks that moved the Hawks up 2 places in each of the 3rd (from 54 to 52) and 4th rounds (from 72 to 70), plus pick 88, together with, of course, the salary cap space created by moving him on.

Magic beans or not we must not give him up for nothing. Personally not a fan and will be happy to see him gone but he's worth more than a 34 yo mid.

^^^ Is a now-VFL-standard (even if formerly high-quality) CHF worth more than a 34 year-old star centreman who just won his club's best and fairest?

There was no movement at the station
for the word had passed around that he was worth less than
a thompsoc sock!
He was worth a thousand pounds in our dreams of yesteryear
So now all the cracks on Nix had gathered to the fray.
And they were willing to chase him off as far as they could.....that crappy colt.
Bye Trav.
But wait no taker means will he be there next year??.... as the Water Boy!
Apologies to Banjo P.
