As the starting Centre Half Forward for the SCSC team it is my duty to inform the forum that I have sprained my ankle training for the big match.
My feet slid out from beneath me whilst going for a mark with my right foot being caught in the grass and being twisted (I wonder if this would have happened if I was wearning football boots). Only had joggers on at the time.
Anyways... hopefully I will still be OK for the match. My foot is all iced up atm.
Looking forward to it.
Ben

Might be a good idea to get boots
I think that if we can get hold of footy boots (ANY footy boots) it would be a safer option, especially after reading the last message.
I'm going to visit Vinnies to see if there are any, I have a pair of size 8 soccer boots lying around the house somewhere or I might get a cheapy pair from Rebel and use them if ever I play touch footy again. None of the metal studded boots, they are a bit beyond my price range.
The no footy boots clause is well meaning but I think that sliding on the mud could be dangerous and might spoil the enjoyment of watching us destroy the Saints on the Saturday night.
Get well, Ben, we're gonna miss you on the track.
Also Peter Tuziak Snr won't be able to play but Bill Steenson has thrown his hat in the ring.

Ok Ok,
In light of recent events with my club, I have decided to revoke the rule which states that only joggers should be worn.
HOWEVER, I am saying right here, right now, that everyone is playing at their own risk, and if u are injured, then theres not much anyone can do.
Both myself and Geoff will inspect boots prior to the match, and anyone found to have SHARP studs will be asked to remove them.
Regards
Michael "Tazza" Gallagher
Captain of the SCSC team

Sounds good to me
Moulded boots rather than metal studded boots sounds like a fair option to me. I'll see if I can find any cheapies for SCSC to use. Good call folks, Vic Park in May could get pretty wet.

Metal studs are ok, so long as they are fresh, I.E. not worn down sharp. Both captains will inspect boots prior to the match to check on the "sharpness" of studs, and anyone with sharpies will be asked to remove them.

Hi everyone,
Is there anyone coming to the match who knows how to strap an ankle properly? Say is there going to be a SCSC or C/S Physio there?
I will be able to play based on my physiotherapy program but will probably need to strap the ankle as a precaution to give the ankle added support.
