Reduce spammers by a quota, say 15 max per hour

Yes. I'm sick of these serial pests.

As I said in that comment Dave, don't let them get to you, that's what they want.

Sorry people I was a bit "tired and emotional" lol and I hadn't been drinking :P
All the same I think I should cut down on my time here. It can't be good the amount of time I spend on the internet these days... someone else can take over the football team, maybe -magpies are 2 good- if he wants to  or someone else.

The ISP you sign up with gives you at least one email address (iPrimus gives us five), so there's no excuse for not using it to sign up here.

That should keep most of the spammers off the board, but if they do happen to get through, any misuse of the board can then be reported, by the mods, to that person's ISP.
You can't signup with those unless you ask IIRC.

this thread started out as a thread about quotas in an hour to weed out the serial pests who keep getting banned and then coming back or even registering new names before they get banned.

I was wondering, based on the weeding out of the serial pests, can the ip addresses of posters be logged as they are on other bulletin boards? Then you could tell if one serial pest posts and then answers the post (in the same time frame) with another of his/her aliases (as has occurred many times), then you could see if they were from the same IP address.

Yes yes, I know if they log off and log on again and they are on dial up, then this renders it moot, however, they will still have the same isp prefix in their ip address.

okay, go back to your chatting.

yes they can, Murray quite enjoyed conversing with himself, before scuttling off to BigFooty many moons ago. There have been others, Bob the Gob and his alter ego are another pair of serial pests that come to mind!

Well LD, i don't mind having my IP logged and i'm sure innocent posters on here won't either if it's going to weed out the serial pests.

Can we bring it in? Or should I ask that in Feedback?
