The Pies have battled against some well documented player social issues in very recent times, to bring social misfit Fevola into the Pies environment would be a clear dereliction of the clubs responsibilities toward club culture, its values and the young playing list.

If the Blues have not been able to contain him, what is there to suggest that the Pies could - certain history is against us. Lets not forget we had the opportunity to bring in Cuz and dropped the idea because of the associated baggage - Fev would be no different.

Terrific athlete no denying that, so was George Best, Mike Tyson etc etc.
I'd much prefer to say, "we are the reigning premiers", than "we have a model culture". The club owes us premierships, not some moral stance against drunken behaviour.

The champions are remembered, not the nice guys. That's why Mike Tyson is perhaps the second biggest name to ever come out of the sport, and he will always be remembered. He was an uncompromising wrecking machine, that tore the HW division apart and took the world by storm. Famous or infamous, he rules the 80s.

Give me Fevola any day.
Thankfully we've dragged ourselves out of the 80's, at least some of us have. We all want premierships, no denying that. So many more aspects to a club these days though. Do I want my kids to model themselves on a Fev or Cuz - in footballing terms, YES, everyday of the week. Their social behaviour - not so much.

In terms of Champions, I agree with you, Champions are always remembered. I bet if you think about it for long enough you'll come up with a host of Champions across a number of sports that have got there with dignity and class. or to make it simple, just think about AFL.

Of course there are champions who are "nice" guys. But I'm just saying, it's the level of success that determines who is remembered, not how nice they are. It's got nothing to do with the decade or being stuck in the 80s. We did the right thing by standing by Didak and Shaw, because success is more important than having no blemishes. These people are human, they're not robots. Fevola will win us a flag. Would you be willing to endure him flaunting sex toys in public and being drunk at the Brownlow in exchange for a flag? I know I would.

And so we should have. They in turn have repayed that faith by pulling in their heads, setting the example required by playing great footy. What sets these boys apart from Fev is that they haven't allowed themselves to become 'serial offenders', the same can't be said for Fev.

This the same Judd who presided over serial druggie Cousins?
The same Judd who made sure Cuz was on the podium to accept the cup as a "co-captain"?
The same Judd who was extremely silent when Cuz swam a river to avoid police?
The same Judd caught on film eye-gouging?
The same Judd who sold his soul for cardboard money?

A real upstanding citizen that man Judd.

I reckon there is more to it than what fev said to Judd. I reckon there is some involvement from twiggles. I guess we will never know the truth.

He would NEVER come to Collingwood unless forced through trade. He despises us.

We need him but we don't want him.

He's a foul-mouthed, drunken, pea-brained fool. He would bring us no credit whatever.

I hope Carlton keeps excusing his behaviour and sow the seeds of their own failure.

He's a throwback to a by-gone era and we don't want him setting a bad example at Pieland........let's hope he stays put and does all the damage possible :D
After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!
Collingwood rules the world again and Mick Malthouse fulfils his destiny with the twenty ten premiership and can you hear the people sing!

^^^ And Carlton would only trade him... They are not going to sack him and pay him 2 years (1.5mil) to allow him to go into a draft. It's a trade or nothing.

Post by Piesnchess »

If the Bluescum dismiss Fev, should we try for him or not.?? A nearly one hundred goal forward, a great kick, and good mark. If we could get him off the piss, and he gets his act together, I said IF, do you think he is worth a punt. ??
I honestly dont know, he has great footy talent, but lacks brains and commonsense.
Any suggestions. :?: :?: :? :?
