According to Collingwood website Jolly will miss the game against the crows as well. Hopefully be back to take on Coxy and Nat.

We need Jolly specifically against West Coast, Sydney and Freo. The others wont dominate as much. I mean Minson won the hitouts 65-38 on the weekend and we still won the clearances. Most teams have average ruckman out there so if Jolly was to miss a few now and have him cherry ripe for later in the year then all the better.

I'm not worried about this game. The most worried I've been before a game this season was the way I felt prior to the Carlton game even though I still thought we'd beat Carlton.

I think the boys will put the extra effort in for this one and our best is better than their best. We'll win.

Can't wait to get to the G on Friday night though. This will continue the recent trend of big atmosphere, big hype Collingwood-Geelong games. 3 Prelims, a NAB cup final, several big regular season encounters. The only stage left for this modern rivalry is the Grand Final itself.

Gonna be another big one.

Geelong has the team to match us in the clearances, and with an in-form Ruckman it is going to hurt.

We'll just rip them to shreds in the forward line anyway :D

No, I hadn't forgotten that we played our last practice match in 2009 against Geelong. I was wondering more about whether it was appropriate to include practice games in your list.

Nick maxwell seemed in good spirit, said he would play.

This is what was said from the horses mouth at my daughters school today, but most things are said to make the day go easier.

Hope we win.

So far these season between them Dawes, Cloke and Brown have taken 101 marks - 45 contested - and kicked 37 goals.

Podsiadly, Hawkins and Mooney have taken a combined 67 marks - 20 contested - and kicked 11 goals.
A nice quote from Leigh Matthews' article:

Decent read, but doesn't present any new arguments. But I enjoy reading statistics.

All the more reason that we want this to be a dry night. Need our marking forwards to be able to clunk a few 20m out.

Weather forecast is for very little rain-scattered showers. Unless that changes the conditions should be ok for marking.
